Funny enough, I've had some of my most enjoyable rounds when paired with 3 old guys at my club (happens pretty frequently, our average membership age is probably ~60). The constant trash talk is hilarious, and one round the group I joined up with had a game for $100 skins which was pretty entertaining to watch (since it was out of my price range) haha.

Heh. Earlier this summer my foursome had a twosome of 20-somethings behind us. Pause to explain that I'm the youngest of my group at 55, the oldest is 68. After we hit our drives on a par 4, we waited by the tee to let them play through. When one of them stepped up to hit, his buddy whispered to us, "watch this." The guy hit his drive and the buddy whooped and said, "That's why I bring ya." We murmured appreciatively, said, yeah, great to be young, wish my back would do that, etc.. We all proceeded up the fairway together, and found that everyone in my foursome had outdriven both of them.

At least we didn't hold them up.

...you play out of your mind and have your best round in months on Thursday, show up on Saturday to play a round with the guys, hit every shot solid on the range, being sure to only hit a few just to warm up, then head to the first tee to promptly hit two drives OB.

Shipwreck, I wish you'd been there to give me that advice. I had an idea I could turn my game around and ended up wanting to punch myself in the throat the rest of the round. At least I was good entertainment to the guys.

When a single gets paired with my buddy-group for our saturday morning tee time, and isn't stocked up with beer for the round image/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Also, my playing partner measures the first 160 yard hole, after I've given him the distance .. and as I hook my shot into the range, he is standing behind the box repeating his failed swing to figure out what he did wrong. Usually on the next tee I shank one into the woods

You get there 45 minutes early and they tell you the range is closed !!!!!! I'm old and battle-scarred, have to hit balls to loosen up before playing. Would rather watch Golf Channel than walk out of the clubhouse and straight to first tee. First 4-5 holes are a wash.

Yep they are bad about that here--- But I will call ahead now--- We actually cancelled a group of 16 players the other week because of CPO--- Some of us can play CPO or walk some but the majority in this bunch are older and have issues physically. We ended up at another course that let them have handicapped flags and use discretion on where to go. Actually I got a call from the GM of that course on Monday asking me WTF?--- I told him what was up and where we ended up at. He said well we would given your guys flags. I told him well I asked and the idiot you had in the shop said no. We were not driving the 45 miles up there to see. Yeah management and personnel at these courses these days
