I've played mizuno since t zoid days. The mp18 is the best they've put out since I've been playing them, IMO. mp4 is excellent, but mp18 just has the looks and the sole grind is awesome for me.

I prefer the 4s due to the top line of the 18s seems wider, I think because they are squared off and the 4s are rounded.

I think a pured MP-4 feels better than a pured MP-18, but overall I have to say the MP-18. The more compact heads in the short irons are the decider for me.

That said, I was fit for my MP-18s, and got the shafts half an inch longer than standard and 2* upright, whereas my MP-4s were a second hand pickup with standard shafts and lies. That makes a big difference in playability.

I don't think MP18 is any better than MP5 besides the looks. And MP4 still look better than MP18 for me. Performance and feel are the same.

MP-18 are perfect and will become a Mizuno legend and will also be the gold standard for OEM blades going forward. MP-4 is just a great set of blades.

I'll be watching this thread close. I'm going to get a set of MP 4s at some point this spring. I have a set of shafts that I need to install something on and the 4s are it. I've played them in the past and loved them. I have a MP 18 combo set (3-6 sc, 7-pw blades) now that I absolutely love. The only complaint I have with them is when I get a little steep they dig a lot on me. I didn't have that problem at all with the 4s but I did have them set 1° weak. I may do that with the 18s and see if it helps. As for voting I can't even do it. They are both amazing irons. I think the 4s are the purest, best looking irons mizuno has ever made.

The MP 4 is the best blade Mizuno ever made. It is a modern version of the 33 with all of the playability and stronger lofts for today's distance game. The blades will do whatever I ask. I love the chrome finish (just got my 3rd set). We all have opinions but why do the guys who play Titleist, Callaway and TaylorMade always have the strongest opinions on which Mizzy is best?

Then why do you bag the Callaways?

MP 18s look better in the bag but feel and performance it's the MP 4s.

Mp18 feel more solid to me. Maybe due to the more “meat” they have

No problems hitting either.

Prefer the satin finish On the 18’s as well

MP-4 ......Mizzy’s need to be chrome.

And the curvaceousness of the 4’s seals the deal over the 18’s straight line.

FWIW I’m gaming MMC in my main bag , and 5’s in my weekend bag to ensure I got a weekly dose of Mizzy muscle-back goodness !

Seems to be a lot of fuss over the MP18 topline, are y’all that good that if it’s not butter knife thin it’s too chunky? Lol. Yes topline is a little thicker than mp4 and some other MBs but the shaping, looks, finish and feel are great. Not to mention I’ll take a slightly thicker topline in exchange for matching shirt irons, aka compact and not looking like they came from another set.

Been playing mizuno blades for a few decades. Had the mp18s for about 3 days and returned them. They felt muted compared to every other mizuno blade I’ve owned: mp14, mp37, mp69, tn87. I compared the 18s to my tn87s during a few range sessions. The dispersion and distance on the 18s were no better than the 87s, and the feel was worse with the 18s. The top line view also was thicker and looked worse to me. Overall, some of the least exciting mizuno blades I’ve ever hit. I really wanted to love them, and I tried, but I couldn’t.

Its a modern blade!

Look at the MP5, MP18 Srixon 9 series all big (ish) blades, a lot more friendly than the old blades

I had a set of MP 18's for a while but sold them. To be fair, it was mainly because of the shaft. Still, I think the MP 4, 68, 69's looked and felt better than the 18's. Just my opinion.
