I think it may need a little more weight in the head.. Anyone else feel like their M6 head is super light?

>

I actually ordered mine with the shaft cut a half inch which made me add more weight to the head with lead tape. Stock swing weight is D3. I have a Tour Velvet Align grip on top which wouldn't effect the swing weight but, when I went to get my swing weights measured I was sitting at D1.5 or something. I added a couple grams of Tape to the head more towards the face. Very nice trajectory and still quite forgiving.

I went to demo day and hit basically everything

They had a trackman and I was testing the M5 and 6 ... for me, I got better numbers from the m6 and better dispersion. Very similar swings found the center of the face way more often with the m6 for me vs the m5 (and its cheaper) but less adjustable

I usually get about 250 total distance, This driver was the same as any other driver until I hit it with perfection twice. One went 305 and the other was 290. 305 was hit with a 15-20 mph helping wind. I like it. I tried it at the range with a 44" shaft and i couldnt hit the sweetspot. I think it was too light. Put the 45.75 back in and hit middle of face more often. Overall it felt more forgiving and a little longer than my m1. Only thing I would change is I would get the 10.5*. Im a low ball hitter. Maybe add 5g weight to the head?

How could you be picking up 40 yards?

Swing weight on mine was a little light playing at 45. I took a little lead tape and put it in the face slot on the bottom. It’s perfect now and maybe adding a few grams there will lower spin even more. I find that it hits bombs. I actually bought the m5 tour and traded the head for the m6 after about a week. Soo glad I did!!

I hit the sweetspot and it was downwind. Maybe swung a little faster but it felt great when i hit it. I am waiting for some cheap heavier ebay weights from china so I can use it with my 44.5" shaft.

Bar none best driver I’ve owned. Hit mine so well I’m afraid to change the grip. lol. And I’m no TM homer. For reference. I have a m5 5 wood that I just cannot seen to get along with. I hit it straight. But it just feels bad to me no mattter where on the face I catch it. The old faithful m1 3 wood isn’t that way.

Having developed a crack in my beloved m3 after only 8 months, it’s gone back to Taylormade for warranty replacement. In the meantime my pro gave me an M6 head of the same loft to use with my shaft. Before the crack, my M3 was straight and long.

I cannot get on with this M6. I had the M3 configured for low spin and had a lovely little draw. The M6 just hooks no matter what I try. It still ends in the same spot as the M3 would some of the time but it’s a wild hook to get there and risks hitting trees or misses left. Cannot wait for Taylormade to send my replacement M3 head so I can get back to hitting fairways. Shame it’s taking them so long.

They may not send an m3. Lots of times they are out of old model stock and send a new one as replacement. In this case an m5 is the comparable one.

My M6 with Tensei Pro Blue has me brimming with confidence. Long and straight on good swings. Better than deserved distance on iffy swings.

I have been playing the M6 Rocket 3 wood and I have to say that off the tee this thing lives up to its name. Off the turf I still use the Rogue 4 wood and Heavenwood. Question for those of you using this driver that have also used the 3 wood - Is the driver anywhere near as consistent as the 3 wood? If so I am going to have to take a look at it...

Have a M6 D-Type 9 degrees. I'm not sure that it's longer than my Callaway Rogue. It gets it out there most times to a comparable distance. But oh, my goodness, it's much more predictable and goes neither wildly left nor right. I would hit the Callaway well for a number of drives in a row, but inevitably, some nasty slices showed up. This M6 will go a bit right--I ain't saying it fixes everything, given my abilities to screw up my swing. But it sure makes a difference overall--I'm not losing shots and hitting wild drives right anymore.

And the M6 D-type 3 wood, 16 degrees, is just a monster off the fairway or the tee. Great club.

Demo'd an M6 today with the Atmos 6r

NEVER got in trouble off the tee, & unfortunately lost distance in comparison to my 2014 Alpha...

BUT.... (did i mention I was NEVER in trouble!!)

I purchased & swapped out the shaft to the 6s, I'm assuming that will flatten out the ball flight a hair, & reduce the spin rate enough that it will outperform my Alpha in all aspects....

REALLY happy with the M6 performance...

Not to mention feel & sound are 2nd to none

Been a LONG time since I drank any TM Kool-Aid, but I'm on board without a doubt

Swapped out the stock weight with a 10g weight so head weight is right at 200g now. Feels way more solid now. Paired With the tensei pro orange 70tx it is a long combo

2nd round today with the M6

Good drive on 1... birdie...

No driver on 2

Worm burner on 3 (almost a top??)

Unlike me, but played it off as a bad shot...

But seriously felt like I put a good swing on it??

Hole 4 is par 3

Hole 5, long(ish) par 5...

Another worm burner that I thought I put an awesome swing on...???

WTF???

I didn’t miss all day while I tested it day prior...

Low & behold... upon examining...

BROKE THE SHAFT!!!!

Won’t lie... it’s not from my monster swing speed...

(98-102)

Clubhouse ran me out a spare, & back to a sense of normality... but I was a little mind F’d for a few holes!!!!

I’ll play a spare Fujikura I have laying around the house until my replacement comes from TM...

What a bummer!

My M6 driver has been so solid for me. I was finding it was too low spin when I played it with Tensei Pro White 60. So I dedicated myself to playing Tensei Pro Blue 60 tipped 1/2” in it. The club was launching a tiny bit higher with more spin which made this club insanely straight for me. I now have complete confidence to attack the hole off the tee. Since making the change to this driver/shaft combo and HMP irons, my scores have been between 78 to 81 which is an improvement of 3 shots. I typically play 6300-6500 yard tees, I now have less club in my hands on Par 4’s and more chances to take on Par 5’s in 2 than ever before. My short game and putting have been solid which helps the score.

I’m considering buying a dozen Pro V1x and testing them against Pro V1 on GC Quad to see if a ball change puts the Pro White back in play but I not rushing to do it because I’m playing well with what I currently have in the bag.
