Day 1 of the PGA Show (Demo Day) was a big success. After starting the day at Tiger's favorite breakfast spot, we went to registration then headed to Orange County National for Demo Day. Not going to lie, walking through the gates was fantastic. Picture the biggest golf superstore you've ever gone to, and quadruple it. Every big club manufacturer (minus one that we all know), lots of shaft companies, gadget companies, etc were at your disposal. Cobra had a huge showing at the demo day and a really nice setup.

 

Plenty of clubs to hit, test, and ogle at. I'll post a few pics here from today, but tomorrow will be more pic heavy. I ran into the fellas from GolfWRX and they were working really hard on getting pictures for everyone to check out. Make sure you go to the PGA Show subforum in the tour equipment section of the site. They're doing a great job showing all the products.

 

Met Martin Chuck, Coach Rusty and Hole In One Trick Shots of Instagram fame, and a host of others. Everyone was super approachable and happy to be talking golf and enjoying the sunshine. I'm looking forward to checking out Martin's tour striker plane mate tomorrow at the show. Looks like a great device.

I’ve not seen any yet. Ernest Sports has a big booth here but in the past they’ve been knocked for their accuracy.

I did see someone posted a new Swing Caddie model (also have heard the SC200 has poor accuracy) by didn't have details on the guts for how it produces numbers.

I don't follow Ernest Sports much, mainly due to the bad reviews I'd seen on previous products. Also, perhaps this isn't that new but I'd never seen it before:

Talked to a rep yesterday and they’re rolling out some updates for X3 users to accommodate up to 3 cameras, environmental condition simulation and zeroing and some other features. Really cool.

During the shaky rollout with wonky readings and inconsistent pairing, MEVO end-users were told of all the great future feature enhancements that would come, like a combine app. Once the performance issues were resolved with a few firmware updates, there was no more talk of future enhancements to MEVO.

Superstroke is releasing some great new grips including a revamp of their claw grip. All are available with countercore and the new Traxion line is money.

Today was awesome. Walking onto the exhibit floor is like being a kid in a candy store. Everything you could ever want to look at, all in one place. From golf clubs to tchotchkes, it's all there. Someone asked me "if you were able to pay to get in, would you go?" My answer is a resounding yes. I'm very glad I'm here for multiple days so I can go back and really soak everything in tomorrow.

Check out switchgripsusa.com saw them at the show on YouTube. Some interesting putter grips, counter weights of various size and multiple grip shapes; pistol, square, octagon, etc.
