Here's one cop's opinion: I put them on the same pedestal and would rather not deal with either of them. And as far as arresting them, I've seen both fight, act stupid, lie, be extremely dangerous, etc.

 

The difference in the two is potheads are noticeably dumber pretty much 24/7, even when they're not stoned, while a drunk can function anytime they're not drunk and act "normal".

Well if it's what everyone is speculating about, it can be a very difficult thing to beat. He will have to totally change his lifestyle and his friends, or he will end up relapsing. Sounds like he is going to get good professional help. I hope he takes it seriously and makes the commitment do whatever it takes to get better. He is a rare talent and probably would have won multiple majors by now if not for something like this holding him back.

The timing and already eliminating Ryder Cup are two really, really big signs this is something bigger like a PGA Tour Suspension. The Ryder Cup is 2 full months away, and for him to already be out of it speaks that this is something of a known time frame, being longer than 2 months. The tournaments he's 'voluntarily' missing are Bridgestone, PGA Championship, and the Ryder Cup. C'mon, there's way too many things going against this being his decision.

I'm not an addiction expert but I've seen a few people addicted to coke/crack. I know the look they had. DJ had it at the Open. If you have it on video, go back and look at it. He shot lights out and played very well but look at him while playing the last round with Sergio. Either he was pissed off at Sergio or there was someplace else he wanted to be. He was very distant and disengaged during the final round. I noticed it right away. Looked like he couldn't wait to get out of there. I wish him the best. He needs to dump that hoochie and get straightened out.
