I am trying to figure out what wedges these are.  I haven't seen that groove pattern from any of the bigs yet.

Looks like something exotic or a startup because I have not see those faces before...hmmm...intrigued...I like how the groves go out on more of the toe than traditional groves and also that they are not full face groves either.  I like to see a little toe...nicely done on the ferrules what band are you using?

So doing my best to get this going but just waiting on something before I post more pics.  Had a good conversations with Richard (Easyyy) today about what I have going on and just waiting for the green light.  Once I post everything you will understand, just bear with me.

Those wedges are sick looking. Seems like longer groves with out going full face, which to me ends making the club look wonky which messes with my full shots. Gotta love the custom ferrules,too.

The NEWS  - sorry it's longer than my normal short and sweet approach but it's important 😎

 

Also sorry it took a minute.  I had a good chat with Richard @easyyy about everything and wanted to make sure I was good to go to post.  Edel does sponsor the board but I wanted to share my story outside of an official Edel post.  Once you read below you will understand why.

 

The beginning…. I started playing the game at the age of 9 and like most it was love at first sight. Over the years I’ve tried to understand why I love the game and have come to some conclusions and personal truths that I won’t get into for sheer sake of not boring you. I’ve been fortunate enough to play in all sorts of events from the local level all the way up to national. I never do a ton of damage but I also understand I’m a dad of 3 kids and don’t play for a living, so I’ve learned to adjust my expectations.

 

Fast-forward to 2006’ish I ran across something called a “golf forum”. Before GolfWRX, I floated around on several boards until eventually Richard @easyyy started this place due to some drama with a previous board. It didn’t take long for GolfWRX to gain traction and attract new membership. In fact, GolfWRX grew so large that OEM’s started to do these trips where they would invite 5 or so members to experience what it was like behind the scenes while also outfitting them with a new bag from top to bottom.  Pretty much every golfer’s dream. Then in 2012 I got a PM that would change the course of my life.  I was fortunate enough to get selected for a Callaway trip. I met great people from the board, all of whom I still talk to daily and consider close friends. I also met a lot of great people that worked for Callaway and consider them lifelong friends regardless of whether or not they remain at the company.  I kind of live by the motto of you can’t have enough good people in your life. Anyway, the trip was amazing and of course the free clubs were cool but the friendships I made and seeing firsthand that careers like this actually existed was the real prize.

 

After that trip to say my eyes were opened would be an understatement. Throughout the years I’ve made various attempts at trying to get into the golf business. Hard to do, especially not living in California and having a family to support.  I went to numerous PGA Merchandise shows on my own dime in order to network and see friends in the business. Basically, anything I could do I did.  Eventually I forced my way into the business by starting a club building shop and have been doing work on the side from my normal 9 to 5 for maybe 7 years now.  I’m sure half of you reading this I’ve done some type of work for, especially hotmelt work haha.

 

Now that I’ve provided some context I’ll get to the point. Here we are 9 years later after CallaWRX trip, after I’ve been to a Callaway commercial shoot in Vegas, after a build shop, after NUMEROUS PGA Merch shows and I’ve finally made it into an OEM!  I’m proud to announce that I have joined Edel Golf!!!  The company has some amazing things going on and I’m extremely proud to be a part of it. Don’t worry I still plan on testing certain products but obviously I do have to be mindful.  I’m not going to be an Edel hype machine and instead provide honest straight forward feedback.  With that said Edel makes the best products and everyone should own them ******** Just kidding, but not kidding, but yes I’m kidding ****🤣

 

My new wedges.  Pay special attention to the 60*.  I wanted to pay homage to where it all really started for me hence the name.  Also for anyone else out there with the dream of doing something your passionate about, don’t stop until you get there.  Keep grinding and try to do something every day that helps you get one step closer even if it’s watching product video’s or connecting with someone on Linkedin.  Just keep moving forward inch by inch, it’s worth it!

I LOVED Edel stuff ever since I saw the clubs Bryson played with when he was an am.  While I would most likely get a divorce if I had a set of irons show up from them, I did use the Brick putter for a while and really liked it.  Awesome stuff to see and congrats!

Honest-to-God man, I wish you well in this venture. Great decision on Edel's part.

 

I'm seeing more Edel wedges showing up everywhere. When I was looking for the eventual replacement for my Chikara's the SMS were neck and neck with the Miura Tour Grind. Now I have a source LOL.  🍻

The wedges are killer and people are LOVING them.  Our custom builder did a great job for me, especially with the pink ferrules.  I'll give my usual product review run down with the SMS wedges probably next week.

That's the beauty of this board.  It allows so many people from different walks of life to share a common passion and support each other.  Also thank you for the kind words.  My goal has always been to be myself online, and although I'm grammatically challenged, I do my best to convey information like I would in a conversation with a friend.  As I said above, I won't stop testing golf clubs and providing reviews although I do have to be careful to respect the rules of the board.  I also don't want to come across like my clubs are the best and everything else sucks, because we all know that's not the case.

Congrats on chasing down a dream. One of the cool reasons to love golf you can play the some of the same tracks as the pros and compare yourself. Most of us will never play at yankee stadium or the LA forum, but you can with golf

Thanks again guys and yeah I don't foresee any issues with future reviews as long as i'm mindful.  Wedges so far are really good, getting used to grinds over the last few rounds and will drop a write up soon!

Are there any chain stores that carry the Edel wedges?  I asked at superstore and they did not...the pictures definately peaked my interest but I gotta see them in the flesh before I'd buy them...

Easiest thing to do is go to the website and click "Get Fit" at the top.  That will show you the closest place to check them out.  The future of Edel is going to be a lot of fun and step 1 of that is to create really strong relationships with our fitting partners like Club Champion, Golftec, ect...  We emphasize players being fit into our products so as we create a new, more robust lineup (which is coming) it makes sense to stay the current course.

On a side note: The previous version of Edel wedges was not to my liking (buddy had them).  This version has been reshaped and the grinds are filthy.
