I just decided to not renew my Bear Creek membership - love the course, but it's very hard. Love the experience. But really came down to my new 7mo old. He takes up most of my time these days! Couldn't justify the membership now but I'd go back.

My courses (mostly North) will now be Riverdale Dunes, Heritage at Westmoor, The Broadlands, Legacy Ridge, and Colorado National. Would love to play with others.

Love Love Riverdale Dunes. Great track and always in great shape.
I'm sure some will debate with me, but it's without question the best public course (conditions, routing, layout) in the Denver area for the price.
The only argument from me would be Heritage at Westmoor, but you have it in your rotation already... Pretty much a toss up between the two for me.

I agree. Especially mid-summer they can get Heritage in FANTASTIC condition for a public course. Closely mown areas around the greens, FAST greens, and it can get windy out there. That and Legacy are the 2 closest to my house so they are my "home" courses really.

I'm just up the road in Fort Collins and love all of those north Denver tracks! I'm always up for a game!
My in-laws live in Ft Collins and we are always there. I love playing Highland Meadows which would split the difference between where we both live. We should try to get out there soon.

I think it turned in to "I live in Denver and am super excited about playing golf this year" which is fine by me.

Is Common Ground south Denver? If so, course was in great shape but I doubt I'll play it again. Nothing special, IMHO, for the money. Part of it was we followed a 4 some of a holes. 2 holes behind and drove their carts everywhere, finally a mower lady chewed their butts and they did pick up the pace but they couldn't read the signs that said "no carts". Wish I would have bought the mower gal a beer!

It's not really south Denver it's more in the city or Aurora area I guess. They've mounded the area around the city so you aren't looking at buildings etc al the time, for where it's located they've done a nice job with the course but it's not anything spectacular.

Agreed, they made CommonGround better after the redo for the US AM, but it still isn't anything great. So many better options out there.

I really enjoyed that course but the greens seemed to be slow enough to keep it from being really good. Also, it's cheap enough that you get a lot of "lower level" golfers that can really mess up pace of play.

Not really at that price. Except maybe Riverdale Dunes--but that's an hour (and $$$ in tolls) away from my house.

You paid $72 for Common Ground? If you are a CGA member they give a discount. Forget how much but at least 10 bux I believe.

$55 for non-CGA members plus $17 for cart.

I also like the course because it's so walkable.

Wow I'd never pay $72 for CommonGtound. It's a $40/round course for sure. That seems high.

CommonGround is so easy to walk that it is a $55 course (or less if you are a CGA member). Pushcart, bottle of water, and off to the races.

Mariana Buttes is always a fun track to play in NoCo. Collindale CG is also a terrific track to play due to the need to keep the ball in play and terrific greens.

Its Aurora, did design work on the site for the floodway.

I agree with Krush. The level of players that show up can make it really slow pace of play. What I noticed last year, It is similar to Murphy Creek and people don't read the scorecard to see the yardage and play tees that are way to hard for them. now they are playing 7000 yards when they should be playing 6500 based on skill level.

I was thinking about suggesting it but I feel like it's gunna be difficult. Should we start with what course and then work on a date?

We used the caddies. A couple of them were pretty personable, the other just pretty quiet. Although my son (a minister who quickly makes friends with everyone) did get him talking finally. The one carrying my son's bag was awfully short and the bag was dragging on the ground, we had to shorten up the straps for him. All in all, we had an enjoyable time with the kids. I think we tipped each one $20 (based on the pro shop's recommendation).

My buddy that is not on the site wants to set up a 2-4 day tourney with 20-30 guys, mostly just for fun, but side wagering would be encouraged. Maybe make it a skins game or something like that...I will keep everyone posted if he follows through, could be an easy way for someone else to plan and all of us just show up.
