This is what the Hot List should look like. Dang.

14 Pings. Blueprints are incredibly good. Fetch is the most underrated putter on the market. Don't @ me.

What is the stock back weight in the g30 ls? I just picked one up with a rogue 70x. I want to cut it down to 44.5 and add some hot melt. Wondering what gram weight i would need to change out? Did not receive the club yet, trying to be proactive.

Also, I am going to add some hot melt to the head. I have read that adding weight to the crown close to face will help reduce spin. Is this accurate?

thanks

The weight it comes with is different depending on differences in head weights. They use whatever weight gets it to the swingweight they (or the person ordering it) want. Your best bet is to wait and cut it down and do the hot melt, and see what the swingweight is, weigh the weight that comes with it, and then order accordingly. Hotmelt isn't going to drastically affect spin, unless you add enough to move the COG significantly, and that requires quite a bit of weight.

I have 3 rounds with this driver under my belt. 2 with a rogue silver 70x and yesterday with my new tour ad MJ 6x. I am hitting a few more fairways than previous years and keeping more drives "in play" also. Now just to figure out what shaft to stick it out with. Neither has stood out over the other. Rogue seems to keep the spin down on mishits a little better but I can flight the MJ better and feels a little better. Need to take them out when the course is empty and compare the 2.

... I am playing mine at 44.25" with a Kai'li and a Rogue Silver 60 so I ordered the 14.5gm weight and was still able to add some yarn to the head to get it to D1 and improve the sound.

Played my first round with the new G30 LS. Mine is 9 degrees with Fuji Speeder Evolution 661. I had no time to warm up, just headed directly to the first tee.

First few drives were a little low relative to my i25 Diamana Kai'Li, but found the fairway and ran out nicely. As my round progressed the trajectory improved as I adjusted to swing up on it a little, which is real easy to do with this driver since the face is so deep. I had no problem working it in both directions, but fades were easier and we're my best drives.

It was very windy/gusty, so it was tough to tell distance, but seemed similar to my i25. Forgiveness seemed decent, but I'll need more time to get used to the feel of different mishits to really know. It's definitely low spin, as drives into the wind didn't up shoot at all. I can usually tell very quickly if a club is going to work out for me, and this one is a keeper. The shape of the head and big face instill confidence. I have no objection to the feel/sound, but then again, I'm accustomed to Ping drivers.

In the end, I missed only 4 fairways, and not by too much. I shot 71, a good score for me. This driver isn't for everyone. If you struggle with a slice, or regular mishits, it's going to be difficult to control and you'd be better off with the regular G30 or SF TEC.

I'm keeping this one and my i25 is headed south to ny Florida set.

I tried hitting it with the Tour Stiff 65 up against the Nike Vapor Pro and the 915 D2 as the G30 LS came out a clear winner. I don't know if the shaft in the G30 made the difference but it was much easier to hit it straight and was clearly a winner in distance as well. Would love to see how this club would perform with the Oban Kyioshi purple shaft installed. Anybody tried this comb as it seems like more have tried the AD DI than anything else.

I crushed a few in league last night. It was only 49* and wet, my playing partner said he had never seen one hit that far on this one hole. Even the guys playing against us were asking what driver I was playing.

I was shocked to see that the ping rep had a kiyoshi purple at a demo day. I got to hit it in the ls and 12* sf tech. the kiyoshi purple was awesome in both. I have been looking for one to try on the course for a decent price, but no luck so far. The ls had a baby fade with the kiyoshi while the sf was dead straight high bombs.

I might just have to order the 12* sf tech kiyoshi combo from ping and compare and swap things out with the 10.5 ls tech rogue black combo. But I will have a lot tied up in drivers. At my course I have two dog les where I need to hit over full grow trees, not sure I can do that with the ls rogue combo.

Just switched from a 9* standard in the +0.6 position to the LS Tec 10.5 in the -1.0 position with the same Accra shaft and WOW. Dead straight and I can cut it if I want which I could not do with the standard head. Hook fear is gone. :drinks:

Tried the LS in 9.6* and was impressed with the improvements made to the head vs my old G25. Sound and feel are much improved, to me at least, and it really is a low spin head. I had issues with the pizza size head (of the G25) before, but seem to be over that. For now at least.

Curious why the switch from 9* to 10.5* head. I was actually debating between the two heads but ultimately went with the 9* to bring my ball flight down.
Good question, I was playing the standard g30 in 9* set at 9.6* which was the optimum ball flight for me but by increasing the loft it closed the face. By setting the 10.5 at 9.5 I get the same flight but the face is open.

corrada. Thanks for the quick reply. Very helpful. I went with the 9* head not only to bring my ball flight down but if I did want to increase loft, the face would close. Figured this would be better option for me since my miss is a slice.

A bit like the sldr it seems many others like myself get best results teeing it low with this one
I'm the total opposite. I hit it best when I tee it high and get an upward AoA. Bombs.

Any thoughts on AD-DI vs AD-BB in the LST?
I play mine with an AD BB 6x. It's really a matter of fine tuning the ball flight when you're picking between the two. To me, the two both have that smooth AD feel, but the BB lowers the launch angle a little bit. If you want to play it in one of the "-" settings so it looks more open, you might go with the AD DI, because it will give you a higher launch, and can offset what you lose in launch angle by going to a lower loft setting. AD BB could be an option if you play it in one of the "+" settings and want to tweak the launch down a bit.

Mine is a 9* head (not digitally lofted, so who knows what it really is) and I have it in the small "+" setting, and it doesn't look closed to me (I hover it and point the face at the target, so that's never really been anything I've worried about.). I love my setup, and I think it's dialed in pretty much perfectly.
