I feel like I'm slowly losing interest in the Jordan Golf Shoes.  I have my grails that i'll probably never sell... 2017 Chicago 1, White Cement 3, 2015 Infrared 6, 2016 Bred 9, Concord 11's, University Red 13's, Chicago 1 low, etc.  But for some reason the last 2 years have been really underwhelming in my opinion.  The 12's didn't do much for me, bringing back the 6's was weird, and then doing the 9's again is weirder.  Hopefully next year they'll do something more exciting.  I guess if you follow the trend we should see the 3's again next year?  That might be a shot in the arm.

Agreed. Feels like they're forcing stuff through right now rather than decent designs. They 1s were nice and simple but have been beat to absolute death and they continue to do so. The 9s in my eyes just don't lend themselves well to being golf shoes.

my guess is that they're just gonna recycle thru the retros, keep the original sole, maybe with a more aggressive tread, drill in some spikes and call it a day. the days of retros re-imagined specifically for golf are gone.

I agree. 
 

I guess I also just feel like they are putting out too many pairs as well. We didn’t need have of the colorways they put out in the 6 and all the spikeless 1’s.

I disagree.  Let them make a bunch of CWs and lots of stock.  The alternative is much worse.  Limited CWs and limited stock is no fun.  That's when all the resellers show up with their bots. 

 

Last thing we need is this thread derailing again for reps.

Looks like the mud guard is patent leather.  Doesn't look like it has the neoprene sock liner like the OG. Makes sense as they would probably make the shoes too hot.  Shame they replaced the design in the outsoles for the traction pattern. The shoe loses all the story telling.

The bottoms look super cheap on both versions.  Another shoe that won't be fun to walk in.  It's a real shame they stopped making functional golf shoes.  The spikeless 1's aren't too bad to walk in but the traction is poor.  Everything released after the 11's in 2019 is really a cart shoe at best.  I do still walk in my 4's, 5's, and 12's but there is no comparison to the 2020 and newer to the pre 2020 shoes I own.  The 11's, 3's, 2015 6's, 2016 9's, and even the 2017 highs are a joy to walk in and they all provide excellent traction.  I guess the outliers are the 13's and 12's.  12's are the best of anything after 2019 and the 13's aren't as good as others from before 2020.

Don’t know why they don’t just give us J1 Highs with spikes and pump out new colors every year like they already do with their casual shoes. The low 1s without spikes aren’t it.

I kind of get where they are coming from with the 1's.  The spikeless 1's can be worn off the course much more and can pass as a lifestyle shoe. Whereas the 2017 1's with the spikes are obviously completely impractical the second you step off the course.  I do still absolutely love my 2017 1's.

I would argue the 4's were the best release since the 11's.

With that said... ASN21... are they going to do the 3's again next year?  Seems like the trend... We need some true blue 3's, black cement 3's, and unc 3's!

Going in the wrong direction. I have the OG's in black and gray/white. They look SO much better. With all that mass up front these look like the vertical jump trainer shoes back in the 90's. They've butchered the last several releases putting stiff basketball soles to try and be closer to the original. We've all seen the last couple releases just sit for weeks and weeks, no way they don't see this compared to what the early models did. If I wanted to golf in basketball shoes I'd get the Golfkicks spikes and make my own for less $(and they'd be more comfortable).

Never got the 4’s. I walk all the time and didn’t think the sole would be suitable. Is it?

Not as suitable as most releases prior to the 4's.  With the hard plastic bottoms they're more of a cart shoe like everything else released after 2019.

I see a bunch of fashion blogs predicting mules are the next big thing in sneakers. This has been going on for like 5 years and they never really caught on. I guess there's some market as every shoe company for Skechers to Balenciaga have their own version of mules. It would make sense for Jordan to follow suit... but why the golf shoe?  And why the Jordan 1?  And why this CW?  This was from the University Blue CW that came out a few years back.  Look how they massacred my boy!

@solehaunt posted this University Blue mule on his Instagram a couple of weeks back, is not bad looking.
