Takes me back to many nights spent on the Lower East Side hitting the basements of bars to see bands. Bands in the basement so the people who actually live in the building can try to get sleep 🤣

Fun fact - that was literally the 4th time I've played that arrangement! The band's been around for about 8 years (and I've known them boys for about 10) but I just joined back in August. It's an older arrangement they hadn't done in a while and not really in what's become our generally regular set ... so I hadn't bothered with it. The boys REALLY wanted to do it for that particular show so I put it into my regular listening for a couple weeks, we did it ONCE in rehearsal the week prior then got together before the show to run through some things and did it a couple times. 

 

We're onstage and Sampson (guitar player on the right in the vid) was like "Cool to do 'My Way?'" and I was like "What's the worst that'll happen?" 😂

 

Think it turned out alright.

My ooooooold metal band from the like mid/late 90s, all them fellas were from Asheville. We hooked up in Raleigh back in the day. Forget how THEY wound up there. I grew up down the road in ol Harnett County.

@aenemated: This is the place.You could head over to the Instruction and Academy forum and find guys who couldn’t play a paradiddle if their life depended on it fix your grip and tell you you’re doing it all wrong.

 

The only problem here is there are some guys who will try to convince you that Honma drums are better than Titleist drums.

I been playing that spot for 20 years. "You puke, you clean" been the jam as long as I can remember! 

 

 

That's the oldest photo I got from them days. Think this was around 2003 or 2004 or so. Still got that kit but I don't take it out anymore. Same ride cymbal though!

LOL It was kinda like a Church I set up the sound system for. I was approached on the sly and slid in a couple of services prior to check things out undercover. The drummer on the Praise team could play. It was a small building and he wanted me to amp him up. I told him if he played them any harder and I amped him up it would blow the windows out of the building. I set things up and only stayed there a month too much backstabbing and politics there.

Touch, show us pictures of your clubhouse grille and bar.  The picture of the bar would be taken from where Norm and Cliffy sit, looking down the length of the bar.  Do you ever bartend, in a pinch?  Then you should be in the background shaking a martini.

I had to deliver some parts in Little Santo Domingo yesterday, I was lost for a bit trying to find the shipper which ended up being in a old store of some kind, wedged between some Dominican Restarants. The area really does look like Santo Domingo...

I had no idea (I know, living in a cave) how strong the lofts have become on some of the new irons. My brother’s new Gen 4 PXG 7 iron is seven degrees stronger than my MP 53 7 iron. That’s the same as my 5 iron. Two clubs different! The new Honma 7 iron is the same as my Mizzy 6 iron. No wonder guys need to carry 4 wedges. No wonder my bro is hitting it longer than I.

Wow, those PXGs are really strong! I thought the Honmas were strong but those PXGs

are next level. Now I understand the 180 yard 7 irons......I think.😀

Ya, they ARE pretty. It was almost hard to take them to the range the first time and get them

dirty but someone was gonna do it so I'm happy it was me.

Congrats on receiving your new irons .

Scottee, did you notice that the excellent multi material (steel fiber wound combined with graphite) Vizard shafts in the Honma's were progressively weighted? I like a set that has that feature. Rather than waiting until the Washington weather gives you a halfway decent day  to play your new irons I say you fly down to Scottsdale and break them in while playing with the Engineer. You get to use your new irons and also demo a SLED. Of course we all here in the Grille would expect a newsy post after you returned home from the desert.
