That reduced tire pressure is going to lower your MPGe.

Like @bladehunter mentioned about the wiring on modern cars there is too much wiring. The guy I used to work for at the scrapyard also owns 3 Pick and Pull places. Most places when a car is basically stripped out they crush them and haul them to the shredder. Not him. He has guys that cut and pull all the copper wire out of the hulks. I know for a fact he gets a 15 yard container full every week alone out of the Conway SC yard. The price of copper these days it more than makes money on the labor and hauling charges each month. He has a bailer and bales it up like hay bales. Most of that which is called "dirty copper" goes overseas. There they are not restricted like the EPA does here. They literally throw the bales in a fire and melt the insulation off and you then have "clean copper". Here they are not allowed to burn the insulation off the wire because of EPA regulations. It gets too labor intensive to use a wire stripper machine on the small stuff. Now the big stuff it is profitable and he does that. Guess what? On the big stuff all that insulation goes into the landfill.

I quit wrenching in 1987 so I could work on anything before that if I had the diagnostic tools. Anything before 1971 and I don't think there would be much I couldn't fix if it was a Ford, GM, or Mopar.

I like speed, but 35 mph in a golf cart 😳 gets a whole big bucket of NOPE from me. 😂

I am a natural beauty lover , but I just can’t figure this eclipse hype out. I’m very sensitive to light. ( and sound for that matter depending on the pitch ) . I can’t think that I want to look at the sun for any reason. Certainly not travel to do it. 🤣. It’s a burden to be so opposite of most people.

I get more enjoyment out of watching tthe animals. The turkeys and chickens will go up to roost … they think it’s nightfall. And then they’ll look confused when the sun comes back. Kind of like us if we can’t go to sleep and we finally do 10 min before the alarm. 🤣

I just don’t get. The big one we had a few years back went right over us in Western Nebraska. This picture is northbound I25 as it comes into Cheyenne, WY and intersects with I80 heading east into Nebraska

Can I ask, this is straight emissions talk which makes sense. It seems to me many of the petro-states (most prominently Saudi Arabia) are seeing an end to the crude boom and wanting to diversify their economies. Just this last year I believe Saudi Aramco put in $8B in profits into the PIF and the directive is to invest speculatively into SA rather than maximize profits which is generally the directive for most sovereign wealth funds.

Oil is used in the manufacture of many common items, do you see a quantity benefit in relation to EVs using less oil over time and extending the ability to manufacture plastics, etc. since it isn't being used for some transportation? I look to this more than I look at the emissions since I do think fossil fuel is finite whereas electricity production can/could be generated using water and sun as well. Obviously at this point, this isn't enough I know, but can they hurt?

I read that EVs start with a big “carbon debt” since they are create more emissions to make to make than a gas car

Then, if during the life of the car, they are charged by stations that use fossil fuel to generate electricity then it takes as much as six years for them to overcome the carbon debt start yielding net better emissions

of course, if they’re charged with stations that use renewable energy then it’s much better

I also saw that China is touting a new battery that can last 1,000,000 miles. I’d imagine that’s an exaggeration, but it brings about the point that the tech will get better and the emission “gains” will be greater over time

Seems like golf carts are the perfect vehicle for EV transportation. Don't go fast. Don't go far. Spend the night in the barn on a charger. 2 million of the dirtiest internal combustion engines go electric.
