Does anyone know if this will make the 915 D4 cheaper? I have been waiting to find one but would wait if it would be cheaper in a couple months.

I'm surprised they did that much changing of weights and shafts and positions on Charlie's driver. Usually they start with his current setup and maybe change the setting. I'd want to only put a few swings on a new driver before I start changing my swing to work for the club.

Eventually, yes. They did just drop the D4 $100 so I wouldn't expect another price drop on the 915s until much closer to launch around October. They'll likely keep it at $450 until then.

Can't wait until everyone tries it and this thread turns into this thing is amazing. I thought the Edel torque balance was ugly until I started draining putts left and right with it, now I love it.

Just viewed the pic's of the D2 that is on the home page, Ugly would be understated! The shape is disgusting to look at, and the face graphics look like a driver sold at Costco! Hopefully the D3 is better!

If one just changes the "D" for an "M" I would think that I am reading a TMAG thread!

The shape of the D2 is what bothers me, I'm not a hater'. I just do not like the shape, the face is growing on me though. I will probably buy the D3, no I will buy the D3, but I am a Callaway guy who is holding out for a 460 SZ. I am a GolfWrx ho' after all.

The M' series from TMAG are some of the best looking drivers I have seen in awhile, very long too.

He asked them to do some changes so he could see what it would do/look like. They do start out with the players current set up & shaft.

I was the same way when changing from the 913D3 to the 915D2. Trackman numbers where better with the D2, but it didn't look right. However, after a few rounds, the shape did not bother me at all.

Am I missing something on all the hate for the D2 shape? It looks like it's the exact same shape as the previous iterations of the D2. What's different between the 917 D2 and the 913/915 D2? Is there a reason you hate this one and not the previous ones? If you hated the previous ones as well then what's the point of the comment. You were never going to like it. That's why they make the D3.

Totally agree. I've mainly played Titleist drivers over the years but thought the 915 series was poor on many levels. Based on these pics I'm not keen on the shape of the new D2 either which looks even more bulbous than its predecessor.

I'm currently playing an M2 which looks phenomenal at address and has the performance to match.

I guess I am in the minority here on the head shape. I play the D3, but I think the 917 D2 looks a lot better than the 915 D2. I did not care for the look of the 915 D2 at all.

Oh well. Color is good. But really looks like a 915 with a weight bar added. If that's what it is then Titleist drivers are dead. I truly hoped for something earth shaking. I feel no movement.

There hasn't been an "earth shaking" development since the period around 15 years ago when woods got up to .83 COR

Clubs are restricted by the rules and can't get any better within reason

There is a reason why I have a 983k at home from 2003 that goes just as far as my SLDR

Golf clubs are a nice thing to purchase and keep up to date with the latest "cool" products but there isn't any advantage unless your previous club was poorly fitted

He'll half the reason I've ever changed shafts is cause I got bored and fancied different colour scheme

Let's be real though. The writing on the face is really stupid. That and the weight ports not being flush with the bottom of the club are my only two aesthetic complaints about it but not seeing them at address makes it tolerable. Can't wait to hit one.

Oh, I think I need one? I hope they add more shafts like Callaway and TM!

I've read a few people comment about Titleist shaft selection and I'm confused. I'm pretty sure any reputable retailer can custom order a Titleist driver with any shaft you want. For instance, when you go to Golfsmith's custom club link, there's roughly 66 shafts to select from. Is that not enough, am I missing something here?

A whole lot of the custom shaft options do come with no up charge. It's not like Callaway and TM are offering Graphite Design shafts at no up charge. The no up charge selections are very similar across the brands.

I never said Callaway or TM carry GD. I know they carry a hand full at no charge. I said I'd like to see more at no charge.

No, you aren't missing anything. The 915 D2 also looks like a pregnant whale, and the point of my comment is yes, I can make a comment, thats why this is called a forum', so people can express their opinion.

I have been a big fan of the D3 model as I have had two of them in the past, however in the 915 I picked up a D2 with the 757 speeder and that combo has won me over... I am not turning the ball over nearly as much as I thought I would and the size doesn't bother me after a couple of rounds with it in the bag... I guess fat chicks need lovin too... As far as the 917, its obviously not much different to the previous lines with the exception of the ability to move weight from heel to toe instead of just lighter or heavier in one spot... My guess is that tour pros will utilize the weight placement to fine tune CG and spin a lot more than the average golfer who has a much harder time getting consistent spin numbers from swing to swing. I like it and like everyone else I will try it when it arrives but I will find it hard to beat the 915 D2. But I have said that in the past when I said I would never get rid of my 913 D3 lol
