Mine doesn't seem to keep things as cold as long as when I first bought it. It is about 1 yr old. Maybe it's just me.

Have you been washing it in the dishwasher? I've heard that breaks down the insulation material between the double wall.

No never seen inside a washing machine.

Ice will not last over 12 hours approx.

I noticed depending on the lid I have on there really makes a difference. On my 40oz hydroflask, the flip/straw lid makes the ice melt way faster than the standard lid that came with it. I'm guessing its just an insulation kinda deal.

I have a few of these for a few years now and they perform amazingly, putting ice inside with my preferred energy drink while playing golf and it stays cold for the entire round, the same can be said for the hot liquids, they stay hot for a very long time...

I have the flip lid. Which one works best? Might try another one and see if I can send this one back

I'd recommend buying one of the Takeya tops people have referenced earlier. I bought a 24oz Takeya and the lid is absolutely top notch. Better than anything Hydroflask has out (assuming they fit, people said it does, but I haven't tried it yet).

I just purchased two sport caps by Klean Kanteen for my kids hydroflask's. This product is miles ahead of the HF model which I would rank as one of the worst products I have ever bought.

I also purchased a 24oz Tekaya bottle to replace my HF that stopped keeping things cold. Only used once but so far, so good.

Will the 24 oz fit in a riding golf cart cup holder?

I just got this model after reading this thread. Steady supply of ice water enabled me to survive a broiling day on the course today.

I just got done playing 72 holes over 2 days at PGA West and Shadow Ridge. It was 113 and 111 each day. They had plenty of water jugs on course, etc etc but my 40 oz Hydroflask with Takeya lid was my secondary source as I was constantly pounding water. Yes, the ice melted inside, but the water was cold all day while experiencing the same direct sunlight we were..

The thing is legit. In my experience when marketing says anything will do ______ for _____ hours, I take it with a grain of salt. I don't need my HF to keep ice for 12+ hours, I need it to keep the water cold. It does that, with flying colors. Besides, the body handles cool water better than ice cold water for hydration anyway

  • 1 month later...

I picked up a 40oz one for golf down south, temps were going to be in high 90's when playing and was tired of drinking warm drinks after a couple holes. So i had 40 dollars in Dick's rewards and bought a 40oz one, 42.99 and the drink spout for 6.99. All in all i pay less then 20 bucks and was it well worth it, to the point i am getting a 20oz one soon with sport tip to replace my sports bottle i use to walk when playing at home.

I couldnt get over how cold it stayed in there even in the hottest part of the day. I was very impressed.

The Takeya 32oz is about perfect for golf and has a way better lid/drinking process than the Hydroflask or Yeti. It's quite a bit cheaper as well.
