Evnroll Putters-- Amazing!!!

Really wish I could get an ER5 with an alignment line on the top line as opposed to on the flange...or just no line at all. Could cover it up with a bit of lead tape but then I make a $350 putter look janky.

Got to brag on my ER8 Tour Mallet. I played the ER2 all last summer and became an Evnroll loyalist. Even so, my old Odyssey Sabertooth would tempt me and when I did putt with it, I just loved the ease of alignment and forgiveness. I called Evenroll and talked to them about it and they recommended the ER6. Problem was I just couldn't stand to look down at it. So next best was the ER7. I putted with a Barbados for a long time so I thought it would be a natural. I went to the PGASS and they worked with me on a fitting. Even though I preferred the look of the ER7 initially, something about it just wasn't right. It felt closed and it also felt hollow when the ball struck the face. Enter the ER8. Something about the way it sits and the super solid feeling is just magic. The 8 feels solid like the ER2 but has more MOI and easier alignment for me. I added a GTR Countercore and played with different weights. I ended up at 30 grams and swing weight of E1 on a 34" 370 head. Done with putters for a while.

Long story short, my ER5 does not fit me as well as I would like. I love the putter, though I need a 35", not 34". Will probably throw on an extension, and a different grip. Still enjoy the product, and this past year has been eye opening for fitting (length, weight, arc, etc.)

 

(Just wanted to go to the WRX confessional as I have sinned...I am cheating on my putter. Nike Origin B1-05 is being tested to make it to the course.)

Yeah it's the main reason I have from taking the jump into Evnroll too. Just nowhere to try them before dropping $300 or dollars on a flatstick.

Man their standard oversize grip is a tank! Darn thing took forever to remove and unfortunately couldn't save it... Oh well.

 

I just replaced it with a Ping PP58 Midsize Cord (added a 25g counter plug to get the weight close). Can't wait to give it a roll!

I ordered an Evnroll ER8 thru Discount Dans with custom specs and they were perfect. The feel is amazing, the solidness of the stroke and the smooth roll are just what I hoped for. I play 18 holes a week or so ago and my sistance control was excellent especially considering it still winter in Michigan and the greens still looked like pegboards from the aeration from last fall.

Listening to Morning Drive on Golf Channel this morning and just a few minutes ago Ian Poulter was on talking about Tiger, his game, etc. He's missed the last 3 cuts I believe and he spoke to "him changing putters recently and missing a lot of putts he wouldn't normally miss." He put his typical gamer back in the bag.

 

I was really hoping Poulter could perform well with his Evnroll putter! Hopefully he can continue to practice with it and go back to it in the future

What was IPs? old putter? If it had no grooves it may take a while to get used to having to give it a little more speed than he's used to. Putting is so feel based for a lot of these guys... When they use something for years and then end up trying something new, it seems like after just 1 bad outing with it and they are right back to what they are used to. Look at Spieth when he randomly tried to not use his anser style Scotty.

I can understand not knowing. Yet. But I can't understand not acknowledging the question. And I would expect them to know the answer to this relatively common metric, especially if you designed an entire putter around the theory of High MOI = Good putting.

 

If 10,000 MOI for the ER9 is marketed as a good thing, for at least a subset of golfers...shouldn't they be able to explain how much "better" it is in that metric vs the rest of their line?

 

Shouldn't they answer with at least, at the VERY least, "we don't know (yet). But we should know that number".

I asked them about when the er 1.2 would be available and if it will be available in left handed. I never heard back. I asked twice.

When they first started as a company the customer service was unbelievable. I personally texted with an employee who was so willing to give me time and answer all of my questions. As they have grown I think they are a little overwhelmed right now from what I'm hearing. I totally agree the service has gone downhill recently. It's unacceptable to take almost two weeks to respond to a customer service email.
