Kirkland Signature (Costco) golf balls (MERGED) (NO BST POSTS)

Just ordered a box, will write up a brief comparison to the V1, V1x, B330, and TM TP after I get em and put them through their paces..... I currently have gone back to the V1x, the B330 doesn't check enough when I need it on fast greens, The TM TP is similar to the V1x but it's just not quite as consistent flight wise with the wedges.. so we'll see how the Costco ball does, I have a feeling it might be solid... structure wise it looks like it should putt well and be a good short game option... someone said earlier that it feels heavy at impact which tells me there's some more weight towards the cover so it shouldn't spin too much off mid irons and up... we will know soon enough I guess..

If there anywhere as good as the $16 sneakers I'm all in

Are you talking about those black ones? If so, I totally agree! Really comfortable, lightweight shoes!

I put them on about two weeks after I bought them, I returned and was gonna buy every size 12 they had...sold out. I keep checking hoping they make a comeback.

Since they're shipping out of California, naturally you west coast guys are getting them much quicker than us easterners.

I ordered On Tuesday 10/4 and they won't get here until Wednesday 10/12...

dayum

I played yesterday and have two rounds scheduled between today and the 12th...

My luck, I'll get them and the wheels will fall off the weather.

I live in NY, I ordered on 10/5, original ship date said 10/10, then next day had updated ship date 10/7.. The balls were delivered to my door yesterday, and if I remember the UPS email correctly, I think they had shipped from KY.

On a side note for any non Costco members, I actually saw them being sold on Ebay just now for $35.80 w/ free shipping.. Not sure how they are pulling that price off since my box came to about $32 with tax straight from Costco..

LOL

I bought a pair and they are solid shoes. My sons say I am officially a geezer now. I told them they didn't have the velcro closures so I'm still cool. I also mentioned that I could use a Sharpie and put a swoosh on them if it made them feel better.

I played 9 holes today with same ball and it still looked brand new coming off 9. I'd put it the ball on par with a Pro V1 and for the price it's a no brainer. Long and relatively straight off the driver. Good spin off the irons and wedges. On one hole I had a 4-iron in at about 220 yards and hit a beauty of a shot and it did a perfect one hop stop on a slightly sloping downhill landing. I just put another order of 2 dozen in.

Just played a full round. Shot an 81, which is good for me. Hit a couple of drives about 300, and hit the mini driver 270 a few times, which is what I hit my normal balls, a pro v1 or a chrome soft. Checked up nice on the greens, overall a great ball.

So, I was on the golf course today and got paired up with a high level Costco Staffer. He was a really nice guy and I noticed he was playing a ball I never seen before. So on the 10th green I asked what ball he was playing. He told me it was a kirkland Signature ball. He went on to tell me that Costco will start selling the ball this October.

The ball itself will be made in Korea and is a 4 piece urethane ball. The cost will be $29.99 for 24. Seems like a pretty good deal. The ball seemed to check up well for him and had good flight characteristics. He was a long hitter and was consistently around 285ish.

Anyone else hear anything about this?

Yep - just found out some info on golfballtest.org

Now we just need to place some bets on which pro is first to use the Kirkland ball for tournament play!

Nah, on second thought, Costco would never sponsor a pro.

Some guys sprayed their ball onto my fairway, and they checked my ball. They yelled out, "is yours a Krkland?" I said yes. I walked up to mine, and they were like, what's a kirkland? Sounds like the Costco brand. I saiid it is. They were like, wtf?

Then you jarred your next shot, club flipped like you were Jose Bautista and told them to deal with it, right?

Almost. Stuck a nice wedge to about 8 feet. Of course I missed my birdie putt :( Nothing better than flushing a shot when another group is watching. If they only saw all my bad shots today!

Im all about the Costco Machine!

24 Year Scotch

21 Year Scotch

4 piece Golf Balls

20161009_103613_zpsutbzfohj.jpg

Is the scotch any good? I've always been curious since I enjoy their cheap bourbon and vodka.

The 21 year was EXCELLENT, the 24 year is VERY VERY GOOD.. They dont have Costco Liquor store's up here in NY, but I bought it just to try when I was down in Naples, FL... They were so good at the price range, I drove over to Connecticut where they have Costco liquor to stock up on a bunch of bottles.

My friends and I are pretty big Scotch/Whiskey drinkers, Ive drank a lot of different stuff ranging from cheap Monkey Shoulder up to 25 year Macallan and 30 year Glenlivet..

The Kirkland are blended, but honestly, for the price, they are hard to beat. My friend still cant believe he is drinking Costco Scotch..

I also got to speak with a rep for Alexander & Murray (which is who actually sources/bottles these), most of them are blends of leftover casks from Macallan/Glenfiddich/Glenlivet/Glendronach and other top distilleries..

This is my current lineup at home:

Played a full 18 with the same Kirland ball today and I've gotta say that the ball is impressive. I typically play the TM Project(a) so I don't know how the Kirkland ball actually compares to ProV1/ProV1x's. After 18 holes, the ball doesn't have any major cuts or scratches, even with a few full wedge shots put on it. So far the durability looks top notch.

Drives: Good height and not a whole lot different than Project(a)'s off the tee. The ball does well to minimize sidespin. Most of my drives started out and had a 5-10yd draw on it. I've only recently started using urethane balls due to sidespin. I typically struggle with a hook and the Kirkland seemed to control the hooks. I got good rollouts on the drives, but that's probably due more to super hard fairways than the ball itself.

Long Irons: Flies true without too much sidespin. Like the driver, I was hitting a 5-10yd draw most of the day. I was able to hold a green from 185 with a 5i though. The ball came to a stop 4' from my ball mark.

Mid Irons: Great height and ability to hold the greens. On the front 9, I ended up a leaving a shot of approach shots short because of the lack of forward kick compared to the Project(a). Green (or just off) the ball pretty much came to rest within a few feet of the landing spot.

Wedges: Ball performs nearly identical to the Project(a). On 18, I had a 40yd chip and was able to stop the ball pin high after one hop. On another hole, I hit a full 56deg and the ball stopped within 3' of my ball mark.

Chipping: Self-admittedly, my chipping game was off today. The few times I put a good swing on the ball, the ball got great height and again was able to stop the ball on the green within a few feet of the ball mark. The jury is still out on this since I had an off-day around the greens.

Putting: Feels just like any other urethane ball.

Overall, I really enjoyed playing the ball, even the few times my playing partners had to yell 'found your Kirkland!' :swoon: Given the price and performance, I think I may have found a new daily gamer ball.

Played 18 today on a much tougher course from yesterday and it performed incredible. It still looked brand new before I sent my first one into a hazard on the 16th hole. The only knock I can give it is that it didn't pierce through the 15 mph breeze when I had a direct head wind on some shots, but that could be me and my clubs though because I naturally hit my shots high to begin with. I definitely have a new preferred ball with KirkSig.
