Dear GC, Bring Back Big Break

I literally miss this show. It was the perfect golf filler during the offseason, especially the all girl casts.

My Wife is a fan of reality stuff (Survivor, Chopped, etc) so it was something on the DVR we could both watch.

I liked it at first, but not so much after a few seasons. I'm guessing I'm in the majority here as it would still be on if it was being watched.

I miss that show too. Always was nice to have a reality show that was about golf and not stupid to watch like all the other drama filled crap.

They did away with all the original programming similar to BB. Like most business decisions, I'd assume it didn't get the ratings to justify the cost.

 

The lack of the original programming has really cut down on how much I watch the GC. Unless it's actual tournament coverage, I'm not watching. I've seen Tin Cup and Bagger Vance enough times to last a lifetime.

After Mesquite its been a let down. That season had some awesome talent

I think it wasn't much more highly rated than other programming but quite a bit more expensive to produce.

What about Pipe Dream..... I found that interesting...just because it was a train wreck. They should do a show about a golfer like the NFL does for training camp... Prepping for the season.

I think they need an IG edition for the ladies. Get the numerous IG famous, girl golfers together and have them play for a spot in a Symetra tournament. They need all the help they can get.

Well, the producers took some inspiration from them and decided to field practically an entire cast that couldn't break 80!

Big break was such a great show, even when the players sucked was still entertaining. I was never a fan of the mixed gender casts but the all male or all female ones were really entertaining. Can't believe they replaced it with altered course, so bad

I would love for the show to come back. It's given a bunch of guys some decent publicity before they make it.

 

Finau, Two Gloves, Bryant, Werenski and a bunch more have ended up being really solid pros.

I could never get into it. I'd rather see more golf and less cutting to the drama queen stuff sitting on the therapy couch. (i.e. I hated the self commentary where it cut to their faces in a different scene and switch back and forth)

OMG. This is unbelievable. I'd rather see any real golf than that reality TV crap. Bring back replays of old tournaments, shell's wonderful world of golf, big three golf, anything but that or it's derivatives.

Saw an ad yesterday on GC about a new club design show. Being a geek I look forward to that, more than I would BB.

First 2 or 3 seasons were ok then it was boring. Never watched again.

How about a reality show where the cameras follow Miguel Jimenez around. Of course the title would be The Most Interesting Man in Golf.

 

There could also be a reality show about Michelle Wie's parents. Call it the new Father Knows Best.

My understanding is that the players spent an incredible amount of time just sitting around waiting to hit a shot while they positioned/re-positioned the cameras. That made for some really bad golf at times.

 

I have to imagine that they could reduce expenses my "lowering" the production quality. Basically, get two, maybe three, cameras out there and let the players play. Sure, they might miss a thing or two, but it would be more like real golf.

I thought there was already a show about her parents. Anyone growing up in Chicago was familiar with BJ & Dirty Dragon.
