I saw Tiger Woods at the San Antonio AJGA classic in 1991(maybe the Valero junior now)...

A buddy of mine was playing before heading off to play in college at Baylor then TCU...

Tiger won it by 14 or 15 shots if memory serves playing an age division up...

I remember thinking he looked odd in that old man's fishing hat but dang could he hit it...and putt

Western Open at Butler National.

The course was so severe that the tournament players association got together and said they would refuse to play if tees were set at certain lengths/positions.

Brutal course.

It was 1974, and my buddies and I had traveled a couple of hours to actually attend a PGA tournament.

Tom Watson won with a winning score of +3.

This was the same year that Hale Irwin won the US Open with a winning score of +7 at Winged Foot.

It was a really tough year on tour that year, let me tell you.

I truly appreciated watching the tour players grind out pars like we had to, and birdies were at a premium.

Taught me that getting it in the hole was the name of the game!

Now defunct Buick Open in Grand Blanc, MI. In mid 80's, can't remember exact year. A couple years later played in Pro-Am there with Mike Sullivan who later played on the Champions Tour and now is a rules official there. Ran into Mike a few years back at a USGA Rules workshop in Port St. Lucie FL when I had a winter home there. Great guy!

The 1990 Western Open at Butler National. It was the last year Butler hosted. I was only 8 so I didn't have any favorites but my dad was a big Greg Norman fan.

The now defunct Air Canada Championships in 2001. Joel Edwards won at the Northview Golf and Country Club. Also watched Gene Sauers win the next year, the last time the tournament was played.

I remember very little about the tournament, other than I thought "Fred Funk looks like a nice guy."

Masters 1993. Sunday morning around 7:30am got a call from a friend and golf buddy. He had three and was escorting a romantic interest around Augusta for the final round. Jumped in the car, was there in a little over 2 hours, met him at the gate, they went their way, and I went mine, having the place to myself for the entire day.

Pure nirvana.

I wandered around the place and took it all in grateful to be on my own. I thanked him at the time, but in retrospect not properly.

At the time, I realized the gesture, but underestimated how lucky I was to be a lifetime golfer and have the opportunity to take all that in at my own pace and indulgence.

I have been a few times since, but nothing will ever measure up to that Sunday. Cheers, Alex

As a 10 or 11 year old at the Crosby back in the 70's. My brother played golf and took me with him so that I could see the celebrities.

Nice little old man wearing plus fours asked me if I was having a good time. Gene Sarazen. It was years before I realized how cool that was.

1988 PGA Championship, Oaktree Country Club.

I was a big fan of Jeff Sluman at the time and I followed him for 18 holes on his Saturday 68. He was outdriving Payne Stewart all day.

Walter: Tell me Bobby, why do you play this game?
Bobby: I play because I love it.
Walter: Well I play for the money. I have to win. That is why every time we face each other I will always beat you.

1989 US Open @ Pebble Beach

1989 US Open was @ Oak Hill. Recent US Opens in that time frame for Pebble Beach were 1982/1992.

My first event was 1983 US Open @ Oakmont.

Whoops was 92 then

1998 Alfred Dunhill Cup. This was back when it was a team event and Tiger was there representing the US with Mark O'Meara and John Daly. TW was on about the 3rd or 4th hole when we arrived. Never ran so quick in all my life to get out and watch him.

PGA Tour: Not yet and probably never :(

European Tour : Scandinavian Enterprise Open 1984.

Woosie won, but "Walrus" Craig Stadler was the main attraction. The Walrus was a good friend of Ice Hockey great Sven Tumba, who after his Hockey Carreer became a top amateur golfer and a great entrepeneur in Golf, eg setting up the European Tour event, so Stadler made the trip to Scandinavia for a lot of years.

Went to the Greater Milwaukee Open with my father for many years starting with the 92 rendition at Tuckaway and went almost ever year since until it was no longer in 2009. It's still interesting to go and play those courses and remember where the pros were hitting it and how they attacked the place.
