Miura Golf Sold?!?! Any info on the new buyer???

Recommended Posts

This thread has a lot of bad and misleading information. Mr. Miura and his sons are still going to be heavily involved ( day to day & ownership). True Spec did not buy Miura. There is a new Strategic INVESTOR group that is taking a stake in the company. Exciting times are ahead for Miura. Wait for the official press release from Miura.

Thanks for the reality check, Chip!

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

Winner winner.....chicken dinner :)

Some of the jokes are kinda funny and cute but the answer can be found with a little research.

Research? Who has time for research?

Can we at least have a hint?

Why take the time to research when we have WRX Forums.. if its on here it has to be true... with that said Tiger bought TM and Miura.. combining the number TM metal woods + Miura irons = PERFECT HARD GOODS COMPANY..

This is what GolfWRX have said to me on the sale of Miura in response to a post I made on their article:

Adam Jan 12, 2017 at 5:39 am

So has TSG bought or invested in Miura Golf (which is the North American and International Sales arm of Miura) or have they bought the parent company Miura Giken from Japan who produces all the clubs for Miura and Miura Giken. So far in 2 articles it is still not clear!

    Adam,

Miura offers slightly different products under the names Miura and Miura-Giken (Japan), but all products are designed and manufactured under one roof. The deal encompasses all of Miura.

Those new Miura GI irons are the grossest things I've ever seen. Hope that's not the future of this company

With an avatar like that, I'm questioning your interpretation of what actually constitutes as gross.

Sorry didn't mean to insult your boyfriend.

Have at it!

Interesting that no thread about it has come up at TSG forum. One would imagine news like this would crash that site. Also, is it just Miura NA that's being sold or is Miura Giken(JP) part of the deal?

Miura manufacturing, which gave the distribution rights to true spec

Look for a consolidation of models ,maybe less distinction between Japan and NA

I dunno. It's a good development that yet another company is investing in golf. But the focus always becomes profitability so quality somewhere usually suffers. Look at the history of Fender and Gibson guitars for example. I think pre-True Spec clubs will become more desirable. Of course I am biased though (I have two sets , one for sale)

pretty much my thoughts. If Miura San wants to maintain the standard of quality/craftsmanship the brand has been known for, he and Miura Giken have very little to gain from a deal like this. Miura has an unique way of attaching the neck/hosel to the club head and as far as I know only a hand full at the foundry are capable of doing it. There's not a lot of extra volume to be pumped out with their capacity.

Miura has created some unusual offerings lately.

I play the lefty CB and right-handed players are always surprised when they find they're not available in righty.

The tournament blades are awesome, but some of the Epon-like designs with chunky soles and odd cavity configurations do not look enticing to me. As a lefty I haven't hit them, but they don't seem popular. The Japanese giken clubs seem to be more classic so perhaps this will be good.

I agree. I don't care how deep your pockets are when you invest in anything you want to see a profit.

Seems like the definition of insanity, they are going to supposedly change nothing (including quality) yet make more money. How and where does more production mean quality stays the same?

I am afraid Miura may be going down the same route as Epon/Endo.

Is there a known, measured drop in the quality/craftsmanship in Epon/Endo?
