I dislike black putter shafts and want to have a replacement ready when the putter arrives.

Ok guys. Cutting my 35" down to 34" and adding either a pistol gt tour or 1.0. How much do I need to add to the head to play at the same weight? Thanks

Got 4 in our shop. The two blacks look square on the firm carpet, both reds look open. All set up fine on a softer putting green though.

Got a 35" DJ model on the way. Will shorten to about 33.5" and bought two 12g weights from ebay. Rolled this at GG and really enjoyed it over the JD model. Time will tell if it can knock the Byron out of the bag.

Sold my first one because I thought it sat open. Found one today that lines up square to my eye. Will be interesting to see how it performs as I get used to it.

Ended up buying both JD and DJ versions i couldn't help myself.

Yet to roll them as the greens are being cored but can't wait.

Carpet rolling there isn't a lot of difference.

I feel like mine sits open when I have the ball a little further back in my stance (what I am used to); sites square a little further up.

 

Can ball position be the cause of the open/square convo or am I crazy? There definitely is a learning curve for me because I have always putt with the ball barely in from my big toe on my back foot...I know it's strange....

 

I need it nearly at my front foot big toe conversely to have it look square.

 

I've tried putting from my "usual" spot - I was definitely missing right pretty bad. Move it up.....thing drains putts

Finally got mine out for a round. Love it. See why all the tour pros are switching. They got the insert right as far as feel and sound, and the slant neck is awesome. I had to draw a line on mine with a silver sharpie though

I got some weights but weird issue. The weights themselves are tight but the cylinder around the central screw is still loose. Has anyone faced the same issue?

I really wanted to like the new Spider putters but they just didn't feel great to me nor did they work for my stroke. I always loved the Itsy Bity with the plumbers neck and was sad when that putter was stolen from me. After fooling around with the new Spiders at the store, I grabbed last year's Spider OS with the milled insert. Really loved the feel of the putter. Amazingly, I found the slant neck version of that putter on eBay. Someone had originally purchased it from the Vault. I was the lucky winner and got the putter yesterday. Really happy with the purchase based on my indoor rug testing. Can't wait to get outside and see how it works.

I called TM customer service. He said do NOT bend it! Mine should be here shortly. It's going to be cut down and SNSR grip thrown on.

 

Where's the best place to get the weights and what weight do you think would give it a nice solid feel after being cut - 12g? 16g?

I bought some on eBay a few nights ago. They were $3.50 a piece and are coming from China. I wont know much until they arrive but for $7 for the two weights, I took the risk.. I purchased 2 12g weights. Will be trimming my putter down to about 33.5" and put on a SS GTR

Just got my Taylormade Spider Tour Red in the mail, luckily enough mine sits square. Was going to swap it out with my local store for the black DJ version but feel like this insert might work better on slower greens, a little bit more pop of the face I've found.

Been putting both at home both feel very similar.

Both of the faces sit exactly the same.

Really want to cut down to 34" and see how that feels as I'm gripping down about an inch as is.

My golf partner bought my tour black. I think he got tired of watching me sink putts. I found one from the vault and it's on it's way. Can't wait for few this one.

I know the open vs square debate has been dragging on (ive contributed to it) so while regripping the putter I saw a few others that were in stock. It was hard to be exact on video but hopefully it will show what many have seen. I dont doubt that some of you have been exposed to square sitting spiders (I finally found a black one thats relatively square) but the open ones for those of you who say they dont exist are out there. the lie angles on the putters in the vid are the same, but the lofts when measured become different because they setup differently.

 

i saw someone mention above not to bend, when speaking to TM when they did a demo for the clubbuilder here they explicitly mentioned bending should only be done where the shaft meets the neck, as there is a peg of sorts there, but not on the neck itself.

That looks great. I have some black pinstripe also and was wondering if it would be noticeable enough. I was thinking white would stand out too much. Now I just need the leftys to be released!!

Played the Red today in comp. Greens were pretty average after being cored 2 weeks ago. Found myself leaving a hand full of 12-15 footers 5-10cm short had to remind myself to aim about 20cm past the hole.

Should be good after a few rounds. I have the grip changed to a mid slim 2.0 like my previous itsy limited and it feels tons better.

Thinking ill get the same grip on the black and take it out in a few rounds to see which one feels more natural.

I bent mine to my specs...I really doubt that all these tour pros playing them are playing the standard loft and lie, not sure why they told you not to bend it.
