Most birdies you have made without breaking par?

I’ve had 5 and didn’t even break 80… my handicap usually floats around 10-8 so not breaking 80 isn’t all that surprising but having a round with 5 birdies and still not breaking 80 was a little pathetic.

6 birdies and shot a 73. To be fair, it was during an intense match play event and I started chugging beers on 15 after we closed them out. Was still -1 going into our 18th and stone-cold topped my tee-shot into a ravine to make a double on the the last hole. 

 

We have a guy at our club that will regularly make 4-5 birdies a round and still fail to break 80. Hits it a mile and is an absolute nightmare to play against in any kind of match-play or skins type game.

In a two day tournament I went 6 birdies, 6 pars and 6 bogeys the first day and 5 birdies an eagle, 6 pars, 4 bogeys and a triple the second day 

 

so ya that was a rollercoaster….

6 birdies and still shot a 74. It was all birdies and bogeys that day on the scorecard. 

 

Also made 2 eagles, 2 birdies in one round and finished at even par (double bogeyed 17th hole)

I had a round where I started terribly, made 6 birdies in a row from 9 to 14, then bogeyed 18 to shoot a 1-over 73. 

That last bogey REALLY stung. Golf is dumb.

Links at Sierra Blanca in Rui Doso, NM, back in 2012.  6 birdies, but made bogey on #18 to shoot a cool 73 (par 72).  Best round I've ever shot.

5 and shot 76 just a few weeks ago.

 

Major storm due to hit at 1230pm. Shotgun start at 815...we had to hurry. About 70 players on the course. 

 

Roll out to first hole and fog is so thick we can't see 100 yards. I start on the 2 hardest holes on the course. Start bogey-double after standing up on my 1st 3 swings trying to see where my ball was going to disappear in the fog.

 

Rushed all round to get the round in (which we did, rain held off until 2). 5 birdies, 3 bogeys, 3 doubles. I missed 2 putts inside 12 feet for 2 more birdies and made par on a 470 par 5 after plugging my approach in a greenside bunker.

Birdied 5 of the first 6 and had 2 more. 7 birds and a 76. Thought I was going to have to call Phil to let him know the course record is mine but my golf turned to cabbage and she bounced all wrong. Went from couldn't miss to blackout golf, you know the kind that turns 2 hours of mind melting grind into what felt like 15 mins and required a seatbelt. Really only hit one fairly bad shot in a double-par-double finish to the front 9 and followed that pattern a couple more times.

There was a round recently where I had four birdies and didn't come close to shooting par, much less breaking it. Probably had a lot to do with the three doubles in that same round. 

 

I swear birdies are just random. I can shoot 80 with zero birdies one day and then shoot 85 with three birdies the next.

I shot an even par 71 on Monday on an away course...With 7 birdies.

 

That was interesting and new haha.

 

I have never been disappointed with an even par round on an away track until now. I felt like 68 should have been the highest I could go lol.

Yesterday it was 6.  Birdied the 1st. Followed that up with an in-my-pocket-double.  Another on 4 and ended the front with a 40.  

 

Missed a 6 footer on 10 then went birdie birdie birdie on our course's version of Amen Corner.

 

Birdied 18 to go 40-33.

 

Tied for best round ever at my home course.  6 birdies, 6 pars, 5 bogeys, and a double.

6 for me. Made the turn at -3. Having the round of my life. Went to s*** on the back and ended up at 76. Still the best round of my life.

Par 72 home course, 73 is my personal best score. 3 weeks ago when we show up they tell us the 1st hole is closed for the day for a Drive, Chip, and Putt tournament for the kids. No problem, we're playing a game of amigos and having some beers, nothing serious. 

 

4 hours later we've played 17 holes, I have 3 birdies and an eagle on the card against 3 bogeys, and the tournament has another two hours to finish so playing the hole isn't an option... posted a net par on the remaining hole for a 71 but it still doesn't feel like I've ever broken par.

 

I couldn't count the number of times I've had 4+ birdies in a round and not sniffed par. Most ever was last summer, out in 39 (+4), in in 33 (-4) to shoot level on a different course with 5 birdies and an eagle on the card...
