Ben Crane Fails To Pay Bet

Based on Charley Hoffman's instagram it sounds like the bet was between Crane and Daniel Berger. Gillis must feel far enough out of the loop that he has some sort of immunity to be taking this public. People who don't pay bets are low, but trying to publicly shame someone for it is the opposite side of the same coin. Maybe I'm old school but money and relationships are private matters.

That's how I felt as well, seems Gillis is getting involved for no reason other than to increase the number of people who know his name and follow him on Twitter.

To be fair to Smails, that was hardly a fair contest. Danny Noonan for Al was a hardly a like for like trade. And I think the ten second rule had definitely expired by the time the explosions caused the ball to drop in the hole lol.

One of my co-workers and Crane are best buddies. The co-worker speaks highly of Ben, but I have never met him. The co-worker is absolutely the cheapest person I have ever met so I guess, birds of a feather..

 

I've met Ben on several occasions. Great guy and great sense of humor. Self deprecating all the time about his slow play

 

Guy gets his place in all the golf world. When he won last time he held a huge party and somebody asked him why, he said I'm not supposed to go out and win tournaments

I like to see the good guys win in real life. Wrestling and Caddyshack aren't actually real. Some movies are what's called fiction, and professional wrestling have what's called worked matches (not fake cause those guys are athletic and plenty tough, but worked so they don't have deaths or serious injuries during every match).

I would not assume that Tom Gillis is correct. But in this day and age all it takes is a tweet and the torches and pitchforks come out regardless of actual truth.
