When your entire foursome arrives early, hits the range and heads to the first only to be told to hold up by the starter because "the weekly lady's member tourney is coming out".

 

That starter allowed 4 foursomes one after another to go out ahead of us. And slow doesn't even begin to describe how bad it was. Our tee time was 09:30. According to the head pro those ladies were not supposed to go out until 10 but had gone out early to try to beat the weather. They had put us in one of the last tee times before those ladies were supposed to go out and, as a result of what they did we were the only ones stuck behind them.

 

My pardner had even told the starter we would shoot up and start on 2 but he would have none of that. It was a nice 5.5 hour round. And it started raining around 16.

When the female twosome ahead is a hole behind the pace of play after just two holes. After waiting endlessly to play the 2nd hole you go back to the first tee and start over since the tee was open. You catch them again at the 5th hole. They are in a cart and you and your playing partner are walking.

Playing a course for the first (and probably only) time in Charleston, not long by any means (6400 from the tips) but with fairways tighter than the IRS guidelines, water/OB on most holes and rough that is not only long but dense, not to mention rented clubs. Oh and mosquitos. Everywhere.

 

It wasn't a long day in terms of time (finished in just over 3 hours) but considering I brought 8 balls, the course gave me 3 and I managed to save a full sleeve, it felt like eternity. I hadn't lost that many balls in the last 2 years combined.

Hearing your complaints mean less than hearing a bunch of old women members complain. Nothing wrong with ladies playing, but when they're old, eff that noise pardes. My worst nightmare

On the first tee you pop one right down the middle. Then the threesome you are paired up with all skank their drives no more than 50 yards in assorted directions and the first thing to come out of their mouths are "we are not normally this bad". You are in for a very long day.

Here in Florida we've been in the midst of a drought. Well, we have more than made up for the lack of rain and have been getting hit hard for over a week now every single day. Good news - no more brush (wildland) fires! Bad news - no golf.

 

So...

 

You know it's gonna be a long day when you get up hoping for a break in the rain, look outside, and it's already raining.

 

Tomorrow may end up being a Top Golf sort of a day.....

Or, my favorite, "we aerated 2 days ago". Oh, but you couldn't tell.me that when I called for a tee time? I actually leave if that happens anymore. But I also check when it's near that time of year.

Happened to me this past Saturday and it went faster than I assumed and they had a cart which sped things up. She was having fun and was very good looking as well.

When a third member is added to your twosome at the first tee. Now this is okay, however it was really confusing when he kept referring to himself in the third person. We were awaiting for T-Roy to show up as a forth. We knew from previous discussion that T-Roy was stiff (maybe that's why he's running behind), T-Roy missed breakfast (getting food?) T-Roy had some bad fish the night before and might need a few pit stops as we play (poor guy).
