P790 UDI's - Any news on these vs the full set p790s?

Just ordered one from a TM dealer on eBay for $162 (steel shaft), gonna ship direct from the factory. I play Attas graphite shafts in my irons and I have an extra one to throw in this head. It will do battle vs my Epon driving iron for the spot in the bag.

 

Anyone know if the head is a .355 taper tip or .370? I'm guessing it's taper since it's a forged head?

I thought about buying from the dealer you're talking about. Just debating if I should spend the extra funds on getting the HZRDUS Black shaft, though I've never tried it. Id probably go with the Nippon 950 if I go steel.

I guess the margins for TM direct accounts on the steel shaft might still make it worth it for these 3rd party sellers, but for regular customers through TM custom right now, even with a steel shaft, the price shown is $219.99.

I’ve got one with a Tensei Pro White 100TX shaft and it’s a game changer for me. Definitely worth the investment in my opinion.

Watch ebay. They have been running a coupon for spring every couple days thats either 15 or 20 off everything. yesterday was 15 and I found a seller offering the UDI. I paid 186 with the Project X shaft option. I got a confirmation email from taylormade a couple hours later and this morning another email with my arrival date for 4.3

Question (Maybe dumb), I have a Tensei that came with my m3 that I haven't been using. I'm guessing I'll have to get it retipped to put it on the UDI?

Talked to a TM rep through chat and steel options will still be $219.99 so no cheaper than the graphite. Not sure why they didn't offer the 105g HZRDUS in this, so count me in for purchasing through ebay.

The reps say the p790 will feel better and definitely be longer than the older UDI. Very curious to hear some feedback on this before I pull the trigger.

Mine did. Ordered yesterday and got a shipping notification today. The eBay orders are people placing the order for you through taylormades vendor portal. My customer info was the vendor but the shipment stated drop shipment to my address.

I hear the 790 will feel more solid so that’s why I figured why now give it a shot. I have a heavier shaft like I like and it’s not hard to swap the two shafts out if need be. My tp udi is playing 40.25 and the 790 is at 39.50 so it’ll be 3/4 of an inch long so if it keeps up distance wise within reason with the tp udi then a shaft swap in order.

Well yes, the UDI is a glued hosel, your shaft is driver length, and presumably 60-70 gram range?

Playing with the 3 Hi Fli now and it's easy and reliable. When I hit the UDI at the Kingdom, I was very impressed. It's hot with a low, piercing ball flight.

I hear ya man. Im an epic driving iron ho. But my on course results are better when i only have one driver, set of irons, etc. around. Forcing me to use one set all year. Its for my own good to choose one and hope for the best lol.
