Release date is Feb. 3, 2018

M3 or M4 or both?

They didn’t say, but maybe different dates as some now say 2/3 and others say 2/19 (although neither date is what you would expect Saturday and Monday). Some that have seen them say geocustic and hammerhead are a small part of the technology, so will be interesting to see the rest of the story. Beginning to sound like this years jailbreak technology innovation wise. Especially since Callaway appears to have some lukewarm update and everyone else of note (sales volume) is done for 2018.

Really doesn’t look like BMW logo other than the use of same letters and numbers. BMW has two blue and one red bar preceding the M3/M4 not a red and blue top of the M. If they got sued for trademark infringement they could claim it says IVI4 and the blue and red is decoration.

TM is clearly trying to capitalize on the BMW M-Series logo and hopes consumers will be reminded of 'The Ultimate Driving Machine' when they see that very BMW-like logo on Taylormade's M3/M4 Drivers.

Goes right along with the UDI, I suppose...maybe they also had this in mind when they decided to name it 'The Ultimate Driving Iron'. It would come as no surprise if TM's new 2018 M3/M4 hype slogan is 'The Ultimate Drivers'.

At least TM has now moved away from the Star Wars themed 'Storm Trooper' look, and is now into something more akin to what you see a lot on high-performance cars where Silver Acrylic Paint and Black Carbon Fiber is widely used..

I thought that was interesting too... like do they live under a rock. The internet has been around for a long time..... everyone knows what happens when something gets shared.

I wonder if there will be a “TP” line in this new model?

Badge and all?

You got that right Charley!

If anything, there might be a „Tour“ Version ... TP would be rather surprising ... then again, they might just spin the meaning from the previous Tour to TP ... the badge is quite fancy :-)

I think Tiger’s days being sponsored by car companies is long gone. Maybe a bag for a Russian LADA..

Never did understand car companies sponsoring golfers. Can’t imagine anyone buying a car because a golfer drives one. The only time Tiger ever was in a Buick was during the commercials. Rest of the time he drove Escalades and Mercedes.

Buick in China is like a quasi rolls Royce to those folks , putting the big T in one was an uber smart move at the height of his powers , worth every dollar to GM across the pacific

Where did you get that information from? Buick has some luxury minivans - GL8 variants only available in China - that did very well in the past decade along with some SUVs. But Buick is still relatively cheap. You'll probably see more Rolls Royce and Bentleys rolling around Shanghai/Beijing/Shenzhen than any other city in the world except for Dubai (maybe).

The statement about Buick being luxury in China is quite true. I have read and seen many articles on this, although they were quite a few years ago. Times may have changed. Buick in China was (or possibly still is) considered a luxury car in their market.

Not true at all. I live in China and my daily driver is a Buick GL8. Vans don't have the "soccer mom" stigma and tend to be more "luxurious" than their western counterparts but I drive it because it's not expensive, it's spacious, and parts are easily obtainable - it's made in China. That's more important than you could ever imagine. I get into fender benders almost on a monthly basis - just yesterday some dude flew a red light and hit me on the side.

IMHO this one has some pretty big shoes to fill, be it the 3 or 4. Really too bad they just didn't refurbish the looks of the 2017 M1 & M2, which really are the best that TM's put out in the last 5 years.

I predict that this one is going to tank, unless the price is a lot lower from the beginning.

That is the same thing people said when the M1/M2 was originally released...

Agreed, but how many tour pros are now playing the M1 M2 without a contract? If THEY don't change, and the white black head is still visably the dominate driver/fairway choise, how will that work out?

I don’t think TM will care as long as they are playing with one of their clubs. Also, most consumers will probably not pay that close attention to a white head vs silver head.

Ya, you're probably right. As I'm off the Ho'ing I'm not changing my setup for a while,
