Top Posters In This Topic

This thread has become a high school locker room... all asking for other guys to send them pictures, you know, for just a peak! ?

Boy do you have it right. You’d think it was some porn picture. The mind boggles what all these please oh please PM me the pictures I would really “like” to see them will do with them. It was still funnier when the posters would say this thread is useless without pictures. Must be the instant gratification associated with today’s snapface cr@p (as belichek likes to say) where everything must be posted..here’s what I’m eating, I’m now going to the bathroom.. Who cares? Seeing pictures 4 months before the product is out does what? Oh I forgot immediately after the pictures are posted 2 immediate subjects come up. A first time poster has just hit it and gives a negative or positive review. Secondly the want to be interior decorators critique the choice of colors..

Oh by the way please don’t PM me the pictures, I can wait..

Feel better?

Just to confirm, the M3 would completely replace the M1, and the M4 would completely replace the M2? These will be replacements rather than additions to the line up? They won't be bringing out a new range of, say N1 and N2 drivers (for want of a better name) later in the year?

(Mods, apologies for the double post)

I was just going to say that. I had a billion notifications this morning and 98% of them were people asking for pictures in this thread. *unfollow*

I'm a fan of the silver/black. I think it's really sharp!

I do too but I am still of the persuasion that the carbon fiber has a blue tint to it, ala the M1 USA edition.

I had heard about the red, white, blue theme before...so I was scared we were going to get a red/white clubhead with blue accents. This was a pleasant surprise.

It's a massive disappointment if true but if

TM have asked the pics be taken down then there must be something in them. The M2 was the first time in a while I'd seen some better performance out of drivers. I HATED 17 M2 colour scheme but the d type gave me another 7 yards or so.

The M4 looks cheap and unimaginative. Why are they reacting to jailbreak? Callaway drivers have been nothing to write home about for a while, little presence on tour, with the exception of XR16 in one in every ten bags don't see hardly anyone using them at clubs throughout the area.

Seems like a potential R15 in as much as it's a release for the sake of it.

Didn’t Epic out sell everyone by a wide margin in 2017?

Didn't you read my post?

I see no where in your post that you answered that question. Just because you had not seen them does not mean that the Epic had not out sold TM. The question remains, does anyone know the sales figures for drivers sold in 2017?

Callaway Epic MAX 10.5*
Callaway Mavrik MAX 15*

Is Taylor Made on a 90 or 120 day release cycle now for Woods ? :P

Callaway has brought out more drivers in the past 5 years than anyone else, 24 heads.

In the last 12 months they are even

Epic

Epic SZ

Epic Star

Fusion (I think was within the last year)

TM:

M1

M1 440

M2

M2 D Type

People sometimes want to give TM a pass because they have different versions under the same name, but they are different heads. I play the M1 440 and it has different characteristics than the 460 version.

Callaway Mavrik 9* - Rogue 125 70TX
Callaway Mavrik SZ 15* - Riptide 70 6.5
Cobra King 3 Utility - Kuro Kage 100X

Wilson FG Tour V6 - X100
Glide 3.0 46, 51, 56, 60 - X100
Scotty Cameron Newport 3

Tour players were hitting the heads about 3 weeks or so back. They will be seen at the PGA show, and debut sometime on the west coast swing early next year. That's all I'm at liberty to say.

But I'm sure there's pictures floating around... no?

I've seen, hit, and tested the heads. I cannot say anything about them at all. It's not worth being fired, sorry.

wow looks like politics is spilling into golf, too bad...

Unfortunately it will always be that way. Guys like me will not be able to discuss things because we like our jobs. Haha. The sites will always be at the mercy of their advertising, and those juicy trips and giveaway product are important to keeping and generating membership, so they will do what they are told. Those are just the facts unfortunately.

I totally get why sites like this one do need to follow the rules set by manufactures. What I don't get is why TM is so tight lipped about this. Usually there are plenty of teasers and hints by this time of the year to get the buzz building, think a couple of years ago when M's were removed from their staffer's bags long before the regular Tour season was over.

This is pure guess from my part with regards to why TM is so tight lipped and keeping everything so hush hush. Much like the P790, something in the new drivers could cause controversy, and they do not want to give lawyers for other manufacture early start to prepare for their lawsuits and get the injunction going even before the product has launched. By the time the lid comes off, orders are flying in, and the other lawyers would have to play catch up much like what PXG had to do. It'll be far more difficult to try to put Genie back into the bottle.

Ok I admit that I missed the picture... LOL but it's OK with me. I'll wait and see how this saga unfolds.

Story was that they had Tour players hitting these a few weeks ago. There could very well be tweaks made to these before the design is finalized and released to the public. I'm not sure it is so much wanting to protect themselves from possible lawsuits as it is them not wanting it made public what the design looked like during multiple stages of the process. They also don't want their competition to know which direction they are going and give them time to adjust their plans based off of that knowledge.

I think often times we WRXers get a little too anxious to know details on products earlier and earlier (hand up here). We'll find out soon enough.
