Good to see you posting some again- hope all is well with you and yours👍🏻 I am anxiously awaiting the public release of the irons so can put one of my Artisan wedge sets back into play with appropriate set of other tools.

Thanks!

LOL, took about a 3 year break from playing and haven't been very active on WRX during that time.  My grandson is getting interested in golf and just finished a week long First Tee camp a couple of weeks ago.  I'm sure he will be wanting to play in the near future.  I'm trying to find some resemblance of a golf game at this point, it's ugly right now.  Lots of rust to shake off!

I think I might have met you when you came in that day actually. Think I was teaching in the small bay while they hung the art work in the big bay.

Okay, you were working with a young lady at the time??  Not sure I'd call that a meeting, LOL.  I'll do better next time.🙂

The equipment is obviously fantastic, but the “fitting” by MT, JH and JP is priceless.

Fortunate enough to have been out there a few times and picked up some beautiful toys.

First duo of wedges (55&60) are probably 2 years in. This is a satin finish that has rusted over time and use. Made for my daily play course and it’s specific conditions.

second pair is a 54&58 with Mikes version of a links condition grind. This is the patina finish and ironically has rusted a lot less than the satin finish.

they all get complimented by a 50 degree that will NEVER leave the bag.

And just last week I received a beautiful 0820 built by John that is absolutely perfect for me. Was fitted for it early April so the turnaround was incredible for a total custom build. Pleasure working with professionals and quality humans.

looking forward to visiting again for irons once they work their way down to my player number.

Wedges look great - I am very looking forward to comparing my dads links version compared to my normal ones. Both going to be playing on proper links come August - I think I will be fine with my normal ones as they were tinkered as Jamie and Mike knew I was intending on playing golf in Scotland and Texas; poor things have never been to Scotland yet!

How often do you use your links ones?

Do yo know what grind they call your 58 links?  I am going next week and am going to talk to him as i tend to struggle a little with hard and firm lies and think i might have too much bounce on my 58.

So my experience was -

I tell them about me

They watch me

I hit lots of clubs

I went with what they recommended

My dads experience -

Videos of him hitting shots at a Scottish links

they looked at the vids

They decided what my dad should get

It worked perfectly like that for his putter and he loves it.

For me the whole point of getting these wedges was the fitting and trusting what was recommended by very experienced wedge makers think I should get. I never asked what I was hitting or is it low or high bounce etc. I am very happy.

It was actually funny with Jamie as he said to me do you not have this shot - he did it. I was like nope never do it, my short game is based off links ground, playing in Texas - I watch my Louisianan friend who is a good golfer and his short game is sooooooo different to mine, I always laugh when he plays a shot and I would have putted it or bumped and run it when he is all wrist and one bounce and spin.

I don’t.

I asked for something I could put to use on tight lies and places like Bandon, Streamsong etc and they basically took over and said MT knew exactly how to address those needs.

i also like to use the “links” 58 when it’s been raining and the bunkers are expected to be concrete-like regardless of the turf conditions. Definitely nice to have those options.

as others have said, it’s all about the tools matching the player. You want variety or specialty with your wedges, it can be done.

It’s one of the newer ones on the lineup. The neck wasn’t offered or available for me to try but I just trusted JH and he did what he does. Could not be happier, never knew a slight slant would make such a difference

Well swung by Artisan after a lovely weekend In Dallas and playing TPC Las Carolinas(great hard course for Texas). Everyone was their usual awesome selves, had a great long chat with John. They were stupid busy and seem to have the same problems sourcing grip and shafts as the entire industry right now!

My wedges have been re blasted.
