I was in on the Glide forged until I saw the price tag. $200 each? I don't get it. No thanks Ping.

Purely my speculation but my hunch is that they believe there is no performance penalty between these and the regular ones. Differences are subjective, so it's a bit of an upscale product, and those come with a premium. It's not unlike how they have similar putter models at different price points, and as with all upscale products, you pay more for the bling.

It may also be a toe dip to assess how a return to the forged iron space might fare. Wedges are a cheaper way to test that than irons.

Asking again, has anyone heard as to why tungsten has been left out of these? Just curious.....

Maybe Kenny Lee will chime in. He probably knows. I thought the screw was part of the toe weight. Or was you talking about the 210's?

obviously its an extra cost so thats always a factor, however there was no tungsten in the i200s either and they were still able to get moi increases etc. no tungsten in the G series which are even more forgiving. they figured out how to get the design they want without tungsten.

really tho, since tungsten wasnt in the previous generation i200s, its not really fair to say left out here. the baseline was already no tungsten. so ping’s answer would likely just be to flip the question around and ask why would they need to add it.

Those of you who have hit both... Which did you find more forgiving? Being a current G iron player and a I series player in the past. Only reason I switched was due to lack of play that I used to get before kids... The G's are just ugly, hard to argue with the performance tho

I found the 500's to be more forgiving. I found the 210 to have a much nicer feel. I went with the 500

Placed an order for 210s today. Probably won’t get them until the end of next week, but I’m pretty excited. The beautiful 500s had me doubting myself for a minute, but I’m glad I went for the 210s.

Hard problem to have....

When I got back from the range he told me he can't sell the sets to me until 7/31. That was a bummer.

Understandable though. PING will pull right to sell from accounts that are caught selling early, selling for less than PING authorize, etc. The PING police are very real.

Not to hijack but if Ping really didn't want new product in peoples hands before a certain date then they shouldn't ship stuff before that date. Why punish customers for things THEY can control.

They won't punish any customer. Rather the vendor that has a contractual relationship that involves following Ping's policies.

Ping is my favorite manufacturer, but some of their policies are archaic. With that being said it's the cost of doing business with them and retailers agree to it.

Played my i210’s today for first time. Two words...distance control. When hit flush, the feel is phenomenal. When out on the toe, not harsh but certainly not smooth. Both results though are spot on with very little loss in distance. I was truly impressed. The confidence I had over the ball was so inspiring. Just swing through and it did exactly expected. The gapping was spot on too. They are like my old S55’s with forgiveness. No real complaints anywhere.

I took my 55's out today just to see how they felt... nice to see another option on the board.

14 Pings. Blueprints are incredibly good. Fetch is the most underrated putter on the market. Don't @ me.

Is the actual head weight of the i210 the exact same head weight through the set---as the i200? I'm testing out the i200s and find that with my oversized grip I cannot feel the club head even with a lighter shaft weight. Trying to address this issue so wondering if the i210s are maybe a bit heavier? Thanks

The swingweight on the 210s went up by one point, so they are at most 2-3 grams heavier per head. Not much.

If you went to oversized grips you probably just need to have PING add weight for you, or bring out the good ol' lead tape.

Odered i210s today, have not played Ping since s56, tempted last year by the i200s, , glad I waited. Specs, +1.25” over standard, D6 swingweight was requested, hope they can do it, with DG S120, Tour Velvet Midsize grips.
