Assuming you mean i210? What are your thoughts on the i500?

I struggled with them. I thought the 210 felt better. My dispersion was all over the place with 500. I don’t know if the smaller head was more intimidating or what. Just didn’t mesh. The first swing with 210 felt solid and I could control the ball. The 500 reminded me more of CF16.

I have the power spec in my i200s. Pretty sure they all start from the same mold. As a result, the power spec will typically have a little less bounce and a little more offset. I like irons with a bit more bounce and was a little concerned about taking some away, but mIne get through the turf really well. They are awesome performers. Can’t wait to try to 201s.

False. Stopped by a local course today and the Ping fitting van was there. I asked the guy if i could hit the "i210's and he said he didn't know what i was talking about.

 

He suggested I stop by next week and perhaps they may have some new stuff to hit :)

I called Global Golf CS on Friday asking about a gift card I have. I asked the CS rep about using the gift card for the new PING irons, she said no problem, and I might want to check back Monday; I infer that as being able to preorder on Monday, just a guess.

Summation: for an aging former scratch golfer the i210 will be a godsend.....not overly large but large enough to provide tons of forgiveness with misses that please the senses. Flush strikes equate out to near forged like experience.

 

When we get to look at complete set, which btw can't be far off from i200, we'll label this maybe the most versatile non-forged iron yet.

 

I personally never got along this well with i20,i25 or i200....something was always missing in feel/sound/looks department for me

 

The pseudo S55/iblade look combined with I series forgiveness/performance will be a game changer I feel.

Hit both the i210 and i500 7 irons today. The i210 felt like pure butter. Normal distance and flight for me, but felt a tad softer (better sound) than my i200's. The i500, different story. The ball felt like it exploded coming off the face (nice click sound) and the distance basically said it was......14 yards further than the i210. Nice, but still prefer the i210.

Btw, funny we are all comparing the i210s and i500s, but no mention of the Glide forged wedges?! Haven't seen these in store yet? Anyone hit them?

I love my glide 2.0 stealth wedges. But holy crap!! Those are gorgeous. Might have to get a custom artwork one just to have. Already coming up with designs and bad reasons to justify why I need one.

Nice explanation of loft numbers versus launch conditions and gaping. Good example, the lofts are lower on the i500's but they launch similar to the i200's. We always assume they jack the lofts but this explains the difference. Also, the high spin players will prefer the i500's while the low spin guys (me included) would do better to consider the i200's.

Specs from i200 to i210 are basically the same.

 

Slightly less offset in 4, 5, and 6 iron compared to i200. And stock swingweight is now up to D2. These are good changes.

My local PGA SS had the i210 and i500 heads on the cart...both righty and lefty. They were wrapped in plastic and there was no signage or anything. I wouldn't have even seen them if i didnt see the cart.

 

For those wondering, the i500 is not too big at all. Looks good but the i210 and it are much different. I like the look of the 210 but i could see how some will LOVE the i500. Ping has a winner on there hands with both of these.

 

Cant wait to hit a few this week.
