Not being difficult it's just nonsense.

Callaway drivers arent longer than titleist they're all at max cor.

Jt and scott are two of the longest guys on tour because the players are who decide how far the ball goes.

I realize the reality that all new clubs are is cosmetics ruins some of the fun of wrx but it's the truth.

To suggest a company would make a driver shorter because itll help it be more well rounded? Lol its ridiculous.

I've had a lot of drivers in the bag this year in my search for a keeper. M1, Z765, Epic SZ, 915, 917, demo'd a G400 and then a couple more that I've forgotten about. Of all of those the Titleist offerings were the shortest for me.

I'm a fairly long hitter so distance isn't really an issue for me but I do enjoy trying to carry things off the tee. Playing a little while ago a mate mentioned that it was 275m or there abouts to carry a creek on the fairway. I had an Epic SZ in the bag at the time so gave it a crack and made it easily. If I'd had the 917 or 915 in the bag at the time I wouldn't have been as game to take it on.

Having said that the 917 is the best driver I've used recently and would be my pick of the bunch if I had to hit a tight landing area. I'm always confident it will go where I want it to, just wish it went a little further for those times I need to squeeze a little more distance out.

Got to take both models for a test this weekend. Played late in the day on an empty course so I hit 2 balls each with my current gamer 915 D4 8.5 with speeder 661, Ts3 9.5 with evenflow white,

and TS2 8.5 with the hazardous smoke, all stiff shafts. Have to say I was sure I was going to be a TS3 Guy for sure, because I prefer that shape over the TS2, but after a few holes , I was quickly sold on the TS 2. I preferred both the sound and feel on the TS2, it was easily 10 yards longer than my 915. It was really impressive on slight miss hits , very little loss of ball speed and still wants to go straight, I don’t think I missed a fairway in 15 balls or so. Going to spend some more time on a monitor with different shafts to make sure, but right now I am really excited about the TS2.

My 915 is hot melted and I really like it, in all honesty the TS2 felt and sounded even better, it must have some hot melt in it also. The Ts3 is also very good, definitely feels and sounds better than the 917,s. I was told the reason the active recoil channel went away in this model was Titleist couldn’t get the feel and sound they wanted with it in the head. The faces are 100% inspected to be at maximum COR, something Titleist has never done before.

Per Titleist... The new design with the TS chassis made the ARC obsolete. It was also the cause for a lot of the sound issues. The ARC is still present in the TS fairways to aid in low contact impacts.

That's interesting. The ARC was pretty much the reason I moved into a 915 from a 910. It was just way more forgiving when you hit it out of the bottom. The sound isn't the most pleasant on 915 so now I HAVE to try the TS and see how they compare. Great...

What are the characteristics of the smoke and white shafts? I have a Hzrdus yellow in my g400 max and like it but may sell that setup if I like the TS enough when I get a chance to hit it.

HZRDUS Smoke Black is the next generation of HZRDUS Black. As someone stated the original HZRDUS Black was very tip heavy, standard weight heads at 45"+ would swing weight in the high Ds.

With Smoke Black we have made the shaft neutral balanced, getting about 1.5-2 SW points out of the shaft.

Also in the softer flexes we backed off the stiffness and torque a little as the Original Blacks in 5.5 and 6.0 were way to stiff for that target market.

Cool! Thanks for the info... so I'm guessing it's still a low launching shaft while the Evenflow white should be more of a mid launch?

I really like the HZRDUS yellow, so this smoke may be worth a shot....

All the fitters should have their heads and shafts by September 1st. Official demo fitting starts September 6th, that will be the first Titleist Thursdays you will see on the schedule. The release will be the end of September but early orders might get theirs sooner, similar to what happened with the 718 irons. MAP for both drivers will be $499 and MAP for both fairways will be $299.

I’ve now played a round with the TS2 last week and a TS3 last night. I used the same shaft and the same loft with both heads. I like the TS3 better and will be ordering one asap. I currently use a 917 D3
