Titleist's new TS 2 & TS 3 driver - shot @ 2018 US Open

JT calls this driver "The SH*T" ....for TS.......

gotta think his win at firestone will give sales of this club a major boost.....may be Titleists best driver? my 910 is amazing but I'm thinking about this one now....just wish it came in a 440 head

It doesn't work that way.

The only people who know what driver he was playing are golf forum nerds.

Nobody walks in Golf Galaxy and says "give me the TS blah because JT won with it"

Most wouldn't be able to tell you he plays Titleist let alone driver model.

totally disagree. everyone knows what driver DJ plays, Rory, Tiger....you walk into a GG and there is a huge pic of JT with the driver in his hand.

Anyone who's spent time in brick and mortar golf retail will tell you most customers do not know the model players play.

This is confusing.

So TS2 is the deep face version, appearing smaller, but is the higher spinner?

That doesn’t make any sense :-)

The TS2 fairway looks to have the deeper face in the pictures, so if that's a case it's not a stretch to say the TS2 in the driver also has the deeper face. I'm not staying it does or does not just saying it could be a possibility.

Pretty sure there was a screen grab showing the non-handcrafted Evenflow White as one of the standard shaft offerings. Also stated 85g available at no upcharge.

Adam Scott was on the range this morning hitting 180 mph ball speeds with his TS3 total driving distance 327 yards.

He'd be doing that with his previous driver (and every other modern driver in the world with the right shaft) also

Here is that screen grab. I found it in another thread. I also found a ton more info this guy posted earlier in this thread. I think it clears up a lot of questions that are coming up. I guess this poster could be completely wrong, time will tell, but he sounds like he's reading off a press release. I'm late to the party and won't be able to hit these drivers until later this week. I'll follow up with my thoughts once I've hit them.

The new TS heads are slightly lower spinning depending on the player but it’s not something that Titleist tried to accomplish. The 200 to 350 rpms of less spin are more of a result of the tighter specs resulting in lower true loft for each respective head. Titleist did not intentionally try to make the TS heads low spin. These head designs are more focused on forgiveness and ball speed. They are happy with the spin numbers, or lack thereof that they were getting from previous generations. Titleist drivers aren’t built for the 20 cap with a -5 AoA with the Driver.

Drivers will have the same adapter as always. The fairways will have the same as the 917 model.

Lightweight Kuro Kage with new Straight Flight Weight - Titleist innovation that Mitsubishi has now licensed from Titleist, Tensei Blue with Straight Flight Weight, HZRDUS Smoke, Even Flow White. Those are the stock offerings.

Spin is down roughly 200-350 depending on player and release. Titleist did adjust their stock spec. For instance the previous 9.5 heads were closer to 10 degrees true spec, now it’s closer to 9 degrees true spec.

It’s all Titanium because Titleist doesn’t need to use carbon. Carbon fiber is still not quite as durable as titanium in their testing of other products. TS will have the thinnest titanium crown in the history of golf with a 20% thinner face from the 917 as well. The face is so thin, there are no score lines cut into it for fear of failure. More sloped profile from front to back adds aerodynamic improvement to help maximize ball speed.

Lol

As soon as everyone realizes it's maxed out and all we're looking at from now on is cosmetics and getting the right head (launch) shaft (spin) combo the world will be a better place.

Everything else is marketing.

TS2 resembles the D2 shape and the TS3 resembles the D3 shape. TS3 has deeper face

my eyes want the TS3, my swing wants the TS2

Saw and hit them today. They are,, really good. The even flow white is in a word. Great. P.s TS stands for titleist speed. This club was developed in response to the 917 being considered slow in the ball speed area.

I’ll be getting one of these for sure but I can’t understand the release date at the end of the season for most. I know they have no competition at that time but that’s for a reason. No one releases anything in August or July either and at least we wouldn’t have to wait until winter blows over before trying them out. Release them already for frank sakes!

One way to help prop up a 4th quarter that might otherwise be a bit low in sales

Seeing as a few people seem to have hit these now.

I'm in the market for a new whacking stick and was going to get a G400 of some description but is it worth hanging out to try a TS? I've always liked Titleist drivers (917 has been my favourite driver in recent memory) but felt they left just a smidge too much distance on the table. Unfortunately a big holiday in a couple of months means I can't be a proper ho and just buy both.
