I’m sure they will jump on that bandwagon at some point. I for one just don’t like the feel & sound of hollow irons. Just seem harsh and hard not my cup of tea. I have no doubt they perform however.

So my Forged Tour are sort of beat to hell and I was hoping for an update to get those but alas.

How much smaller is a king Forged CB head than a Forged Tour? The sole? My swing is more steep than shallow so I worry about overly thin soles.

I’m a 8 cap and getting better daily and my iron striking is my unequivocal strength.

Would you say the new cb would be in my wheel house or try maybe a Forged Tec?

Enough to make a difference. Like the difference between a Titleist 718 CB vs. Titleist 718 AP2; or Mizuno 919 Tour vs. 919 Forged. The sole on the King Forged CB’s are slightly wider and have a “flare” to them compared to their peers (i.e. Titleist 718 CB, Taylormade P750, Callaway X Forged, etc.)

If your an 8 cap and your strength is iron striking you should be able to handle the King Forged CB and probably wish you would have tried them sooner!!! I have not hit/played the King Forged Tour, but would think they are solid. I just prefer the size of the King Forged CB/MB’s and the black. Both the King Forged CB and Forged Tour have minimal offset compared to the Forged Tec. I believe the Forged Tec is trying to fill more of the “Player Distance/Improvement Category”.

If I was to label the clubs in standard terms: King Forged CB = Small; King Forged Tour = Medium and Forged Tec = Large; with toplines increasing from thinniest to largest and height of clubface as well.

It would be great if Cobra would have cosmetic update on the King Forged Tour...black would make them look “SO” much better ;-). You probably could not go wrong with either the Forged CB or Forged Tour.

Because Forged Tour are not available in black and seem like they won't be, I have been having this same debate in my head. The local Golf Mart didn't have a forged tec black or new CB to demo, but they did have used 2016 models of both which I was able to test, along with a demo forged tour. The differences on the soles were actually less than I thought they would be (pics attached). The topline differences were much more noticeable (I realize posting the 7 of the forged tour is not ideal vs the 6 CB but think this is still helpful). I am a 6 handicap but ball striking with my irons has not been my strong point, so I am having a hard time choosing (forged tour is probably best for me but I want the DMB clubs....) If you are an 8 that is improving and has irons as a strength, I would go with the CBs FWIW.

New Mb/Cb look sick. I wonder why no reviews from YouTube yet?

The iron all the way to the left bottom pic above look identical to the z785s.

I'm just glad Cobra is getting away from Orange. I love Cobra Golf, going back to the real deal days of the Pro D but the Ricky/Puma invasion was too much. I don't hate on Fowler but thank god for Bryson and the fact that he's winning. Cobra is slowly using Fowler for Clothes and Bryson for Clubs which means bye bye orange.

Agreed! The only problem is that they have gone from an ugly orange color to a ugly yellow now. Seems like all oems are trying to one up the next with a new loud color...

To my eye they are one of the smallest CB/MB sets on the market. Very compact, I like that but it’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea.

Yes but they are at least offering 2 stock options, one being white.

Cobra irons have a nice profile, just get rid of the orange. I could literally make a better looking cavity for Cobra in 10 minutes.

+1. Was surprised when I first set them down to a ball, the short iron heads are noticeably smaller than most recent pure MB sets from other brands. Relatively minimal offset on them as well. The transition from CB to MB is very smooth.

I find the old Flow Sets much better than the last two. For me the CB and MB are to different in the sole wide. The old amp cell Pro and fly z pro are much better looking flow wise.

Will there be a new utility iron for 19?

I don't know for sure, but I doubt it. The King Utility Black came out in 2018 and matches the aesthetics of the new CM/MB and Forged Tec iron sets.

My guess is late next year they update with the DBM finish from the current PVD offering to match with the rest of the lineup.

no

I noticed wedges have gone on sale at what appears to be clear-out prices.

Any new wedges coming?

Details, Lh in particular?

the wedges will stay the same. but there is a new one coming with a new kind of metal (not forged). they are in the catalogs already, like the new bags as someone asked before, but i'm not sure if i can show. new wedge will appear at the pga show.

Glad to hear it! I just pulled the trigger on a set of CBs 5-GW with the black $ tapers. Will add in the Forged Tec Black 4i to round out the set shortly.
