Lots of reviews on YouTube of the M5 Driver. Not one mention...that I recall...of this issue?

Yep. I thought it interesting because his obviously isn’t from indoor simulator stiff tees.

 

 

Does it matter ? Probably not. For a free head.but when you have to pay.

Yep, probably wood tees in the grass. No mats on concrete or plastic tees in the rubber holding piece.

Any idea if a 3hl is going to be offered in the m5 and m6 fairways? This is what Id be interested in.

Not in the men's versions. M6 3HL in the ladies..reshaft..boom..good to go.

Are mens & womens head weights the same? I really dont know. How about drivers?

 

Are womens swing weights lower simply due to the shorter length and lighter shaft weight?

Honestly have no idea. Women’s might be lighter to accommodate for lighter shaft and shorter length.

Well looks like mine will be here Friday. I’m playing Friday afternoon and Saturday so it’ll get at least Saturday in and maybe Friday depending on when it arrives. Will be testing vs my G400 LST.

 

I took advantage of the 150% trade in to clear out old fairway woods and putters so if it cracks I won’t be terribly upset about having to send it in for a new head.

Same here. If not for the 150% trade in I wouldn’t have bought the M5. I had a handful of putters, fairways, wedges that ended up adding up to $300 in trade in. I was thinking I’d get half that if I tried selling the stuff here or on eBay. Plus save me the hassle.

I grabbed 2 to try shafts mainly. Had a bit of trade...one of mine should be here tomorrow, the other is custom and won’t ship until next week. Still no shipping label for trade ins though.

I was shocked how much they gave for some things I’ve tried selling here for much less. At worst, I hate it and can cash out and still be way ahead from my old selling prices.

Ah ok, thanks for the info. So if I was going to get a shaft with a new TM tip I may as well go for the new M5 adapter.

It might drop ship from TaylorMade, but there's no way of knowing in what order they're fulfilling the pre-orders.

Just placed my order. If you have seen my previous comments on the M5 I really did not like the looks of it. I actually when hitting it never looked at the bottom, well because who does when you hit it. But the top is very clean. I found the m5 better then the m6. The M5 is much more forgiving then in the past. I went into my fitting saying TS3 TS3 Handcrafted Yellow Hzrd Shaft. but left with Tensei Pro white, very happy with the purchase. I actually gained 20 yards after properly fit for the driver

They have the m5 and m6 woods and hybrids at golf town now. Went in to take in some observations. No time to swing. The driver heads look great, Terrific shape. Did not care for the shape of the m5 and m6 fairway woods, I am picky this way and I find most too small including the Wilson D7 which was on my list. I seem to be a ping g guy when it comes to the fairway shape. Now what surprised me was how much I liked the m6 hybrid in 19 degree, didn’t care for the 22 degree 4 hybrid though. No epic flash at golf town yet

 

Question, they had a smoke 70 m5 there, it seemed to be a quarter inch shorter than the tensei orange but not definitive . Isn’t the swing weight going to be horrendous for any 70 gram + shaft at 45.75 inches in this line?

Out of town on business and hit up a few Golf Galaxys to see the M5/M6. In both stores they had at least 1 M5 with the cracking from tees. The demo bays have hard plastic tees but in soft rubber holders that flex. I showed it to the sales guy and he said well that’s not good. Going to be interesting to see how TM handles this. I can see the BST now. Ads describing slight chipping or up close pics to prove no chipping. Then V2 comes out and the bottom drops out of V1 prices. Good luck folks. I’ve owned every TM release since SLDR but I think I’ll sit this one out.

There's still the M6 that's perfectly fine, and in all honesty is going to probably sell way better and fit more people than the M5 does anyway. Seems like the M6 is the one that we are getting lit up with calls for. Already have 3 of the 4 in my first shipment that arrived today spoken for, and not a one of those customers have even hit an M6. I don't think it'll be as big of an issue in the real world as it will be on forums. Things usually never are...take Apple and iPhones for example.

Got fit last Monday and placed a custom order for an M5. With the launch this Friday I wasn’t expecting to hear anything at least until the weekend, maybe next week, but I got the call yesterday and was able to pick mine up. Anyone else get theirs early? (Not that I can use it, with wind chill well below 0 in Jersey)

Their dang 150% trade in totally got me.... just ordered a new M5 driver in 9 deg. Gonna try the Projext X smoke shaft in 6.5 (X) flex cut down 1/2". If I don't like it, I'll throw in my PO from my gamer and give it a go.

 

Trading in 3 clubs that I won't be using anymore, ever. Final cost after trade in was only about $250... I can't pass that up.

DJ goes back and forth with drivers. I’m sure the M5 will make a comeback soon.
