I choke down a driver a couple inches and move it back in my stance. Tee the ball down a little and basically swing it like a 5 iron. Goes about 15-20% shorter than standard driver but I can't miss with it.

3 wood. Aim up the left side and let my natural fade bring in back. My 3 wood is the Cobra F8 with a GD ADIZ shaft. It's by far my favorite club in the bag. I hit it longer than my driver most of the time and I often wonder why I ever pull the driver out of the bag.

Yep. Usually grip down tot he bottom of the grip of my driver and just hit it very smoothly. Takes about 20 yards off but it works.

 

Have a 4i too if the hole is 320y or less and tight.

The fairway finder for me is still my driver to be honest. I can't recall ever standing over a tee shot with driver and thinking I was not going to hit the fairway. Of course I do get the odd one or two that end up in the rough but nothing that does any real damage.

 

If I was so erratic that it was in my mind NOT to hit driver I'd be putting the reps in to sort it out, either at the range or with my coach. I just wouldn't accept it because a lot of courses, particularly in the States, would be a real slog otherwise.

 

If there's a dead zone where the fairway runs out on my carry limit or if it's a par three I'll hit an iron. Otherwise...driver up the middle right of fairway.

I went from almost having no clue where my ball was going with driver to it being my most confident club. I figured out how to pretty much eliminate the left side so driver is almost always my choice.

Dont want to sound cocky, but I usually hit the fairway with my driver. Short par 4 I usually grab my Z585 3 iron/modus 120 combo. That thing is long and straight

If distance is needed, my XR16 Pro driver with slight draw. Since I got fitted for the XR and its firmer, lower torque shaft this is my most accurate long club.

 

For short tight par 4 holes, a 4H draw will do it.

Either the F6 baffler or my 3 iron. Baffler is usually a pretty reliable high straight ball or fade. 3 iron I shut the face a bit and hit a low draw

The only reason I could see is if you hit driver under 230 yards where then you need the distance. For me, it's Tiger's shot - stinger long iron (would be a 2 iron when I get one but currently my 20 degree 3)

Big part of the reason a “stinger” type shot finds fairway is literally because it goes shorter than a driver. I can’t remember the exact %s but you have to be so much more precise at 320 yards to hit a fairway compared to 230. 2i might be a little bit straighter, but so would a bunt driver just because it’s shorter.

It's called the unicorn for a reason. Best fairway finder I've ever hit.

 

My G400 Max was pretty close. Very rarely missed a fairway with that club, but I'm chasing distance with the F9 right now.
