Bones' commentary..

Though I agree he can be insightful, I find him so irritating... Sometimes less is more with commentary, and the ghost of Phil's ego is just a bit much every tournament on NBC/Golf. I also quite frankly don't care about the nickname of every caddie out there.

It is great to be able to listen in on player/caddie decision making, but I don't need to know why he wears 2 different color socks on Thursdays. What does everyone think?

I agree I don’t care about what color socks anybody is wearing. Thankfully I haven’t heard commentary on that yet but when I do I’ll rage

Bones is great, the occasional pearl is worth the stuff he has to do just because what else are you going to talk about.

Bones is an asset. As a caddy turned on-course commentator, we're fortunate to get his insight and perspective.

I really like Bones's commentary.

He's got a good delivery, very easy to listen to.

He's got great perspective, having been on the bag of the 2nd best golfer of this generation and been in hundreds of big tournaments around the world. As a real bonus, he was on the bag of a guy who liked to talk a lot, so he got insight into what that golfer thought about on a few thousand shots. Pretty solid, IMO.

If he brings some extra insight into the caddy perspective, that's another bonus.

Since moving into this walking commentator role, I think he's improved dramatically. Where he once was a little tight, he seems comfortable in the role and sharing a variety of perspectives with a hint of humor.

I think a possible dislike of Phil is colouring your opinion. Bones is giving us tons of insight and a different view of what is going on. I'll take obscure references and whacky info over the bland vanilla comments we see/hear too much of.

Notah "did I ever tell you about the time Tiger and I shared a bowl of ice cream ..." Begay is 10x worse. Bones is one of the few on-course commentators who provides some actual insight.

Does anyone watch Sunday Morning on CBS? Know how they end the show with a nature scene? No words, no commentary, just nature. Yeah, I’d prefer that to anyone’s commentary.

I agree Notah is not great either, especially when he says a shot looks great but then comes up a whole club short. He's obviously on the job for a singular purpose.

I do like Maltby, Feherity (on course, his show as grown stale), Dottie (did she retire?) , Kostis, hell even Rolfing CONUS. Dottie is in my opinion the best of all.
