Did he really misclub/mishit that shot that badly, misjudge wind, or play it out there intentionally to play for bogey? I haven't been able to find that info anywhere and wondered what was going on there. Thanks!!

I was praying he was going to tee off before koepka putted out. Teeing off with a 2 shot lead down that tiny chute has to be a whole lot easier than with a 1 shot lead if bk makes. Totally different pucker factor.....(i can only imagine...)

He also made a spectacular shot on 16 to seal the deal. Bruce had a chance to force a playoff on 18 and missed but I suspect that Tiger would not have layed up on his approach on 18 If Bruce had made the putt. A great win for Tiger against a talented field and quite a personal achievement . Tiger had fallen on my villain list in 2008 but his personal and professional come back has made me a fan again.

It's already happened with his college football gig. Uncle Verne was really struggling with player names the last couple of years he was doing SEC football.

So I guess maybe this year will be the turning point and future leaders will aim to the middle of the 12th green no matter what. Jack and Tiger have always been right about this strategy. The Norman meltdown, Spieth's multiple meltdowns, and now this year's total MESS in the final two groups? At some point the guys in the future have to learn from all these disaster scenarios.

Oh, but it's sooo tempting. Look at the flag dude! It's right there! Hit a nice little 9-iron, how hard can it be? You can gain a shot on old main Woods. You just know he doesn't have the stones to seize the moment. Imma just going to go get this bird and put the hammer down. Eat my dust Tiger!

*splash*

As long as there is testosterone and fired up young bucks in a competitive event people will go for that flag.

Everyone knows not to go for that pin. My dog knows not to go for that pin. The problem appears to be that you just can't get the flag out of your head. You aim for the center of the green, and right before contact a little piece of your brain tries to feather the ball to the right. One of the commentators said that if they took the pin out of the hole, no one would hit in the water.

Haha, maybe the best golf hole in the world. Crazy to see guys make such huge mistakes on such a little hole. The trees and swirling wind in that area of the course are a blessing from the golf gods. Makes it very entertaining for us!

He said he whiffed, but that LaCava told him long was not an option... has to be left short of the green.

He said his ability to shape shots, especially high draw and low cut off the tee, was key.... and the course management.

Good and bad for the game at the same time (if that makes sense). He brings in casual viewers and new players, but also, public courses are swarmed by newbies who have no clue how to conduct themselves. He brings massive ratings but over shadows other great world class talents. 1 stroke over 4 days is such a slim margin, respect should be given to the other contenders and how close this tournament was. There was some great golf played by a lot of players this weekend.

That can be said all the time. The winner gets the spoils.

11 players finished -10 or better, shattering the old mark of six in 2011.

The quality of golf was quite good even given the soft conditions.

Jack Nicklaus said it best---"everybody started making mistakes down the stretch..Tiger didn't make any.." or something to that effect..

How much of the "easiness" is credited to the weather and how much is credited to the tournament committee??

That is a good question and one that only they can answer.

I guess I rarely feel like Augusta plays easy. It always seems it rewards really good play - so those that are playing well do make a lot of birdies and eagles. I've pretty much always been okay with that because when the camera cuts to the next shot its of Raes Creek claiming another competitor.. or someone three putting... Or someone in the trees on 11 punching out.

I'm not good at articulating how I see the tournament but it seems like a good test, to me. Those that hit the proper shots, ones with a small margin for error, are rewarded with scoring opportunities and I dig that.

You didnt have to do that. The same one should be in use for next year. Last years was.

Does anyone know who the member is leading the interview with Koepka? For a long time it was Craig Heatley (a Kiwi who started the first pay TV network there) and I'm a little shocked that they've replaced him with what sounds like another Kiwi!

EDIT: Nevermind, looking at [this](http://www.augusta.com/masters/story/news/2018-03-31/2018-masters-committee-assignments "this") it seems like it's Clark Perkins (an Aussie)

If I some how miraculously end up with the lead going into 12 on a Sunday, I would definitely fire at the flag stick. YOLO!
