The basic story (some specifics might be wrong) is that Brooks was on a podcast (a week or two before the PGA Championship this year) and it was brought up that he was once caught on a microphone saying "that's Gucci" (or something similar) after hitting a good shot. He then joked that he would say it during the PGA. From there, fans apparently decided that it would be something for them to yell after he hit a shot.

Ain’t that the truth. They punched our greens and suddenly I couldn’t even get a twosome up for all weekend. Poof. Cruise ships full.

Excellent again in places from Koepka. He really does have the mentality for the game. His nonchalant attitude on the course reminds me a bit of DJ - he obviously has power to spare, his iron play is just as impressive and he doesn't take any nonsense.

Interested to see how he develops after another "regular" win. Definitely can get to 6-8 Majors playing the way he does and I'd like to think he'll make double digit regular event wins.

Thanks for the background, very interesting!

Brooks wins tour title #7. Only 153 golfers are ahead of him. The only other man with 7 PGA Tour wins and at least 4 majors is Harry Vardon with 7 of each.

He gets $1,745,000 for the win.

$2,000,000 for the Wyndham Rewards bonus that he'll officially win next week.

And today he faced down, head to head, the man with the best resume of any golfer younger than Tiger Woods. Took him out to the woodshed, corpsed him up and sent him home to momma!

As a 16 time World Champion once said, "To be the man, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You got to beat the man!"

There can be no doubt that with his win over Tiger at the PGA, 4 majors, a solid hold on world #1 and another POY title on the way, Brooks Koepka is THE MAN.

I think Tiger winning the Masters makes up for all the crappy sports moments this year.

Beating Rory on Sunday doesn't even look special on the résumé anymore

Yesterday was utterly predictable. McIlroy meekly capitulates. Koepka shows no mercy.

Hard to think of a more mentally weak (fragile) player than McIlroy and when up against the strongest mental player since Woods, there was only ever going to be one outcome.

Given that I had told my wife it was the two of them in the final group, she was surprised that I went out to play golf rather than watch it but as I was saying to her, the result was about as predictable as my birding the first was unpredictable.

In the build up to The Open there was a piece with McIlroy reminiscing about his 61 at Portrush. He made an off the cuff comment to the effect of "I had so much confidence back then. To be honest I had more confidence back then than I do now." I thought that was a very telling comment.

Imho it’s not Koepka that showed no mercy or Rory that capitulated. I think Orry didn’t even try cause he already knew he was going to lose and he just wanted to go home quickly, while BK didn’t even consider him to be a treat and he was just focusing on his game

Yeah Rory didn't try and wanted to go home quickly, that's why he showed up 2 hours before his round to get ready.

I think Rory read these boards and said to himself "Why do I want to bother to win this, it isn't a major so it's meaningless"

Omg you are measuring that with the amount of time they practice? ?

Would love to, that would mean he tries at least during Majors
