I don't but guess is around the pga show. I've rolled the Ten and Bird of prey. Both look great and Bird of prey is extremely easy to keep square. One of these might make the bag

Got ours today in the shop and the insert feels more firm and responsive and rolls the ball great! No where near enough toe hang for me, but my borrow one out of the shop one Sunday!!

I tried one as well. I really like the former face. But after trying both, I think I prefer the bird of prey model

Did you get a chance to roll the 10s?

 

I noticed you have the double wide flow neck.

 

I have no issues putting with face balance or toe hang, thought I would since I am deadset on 10s but wondering what your thoughts were

I've been pretty dead set on the 10, but now you've got me wanting to try the bird of prey model before I pull the trigger.

I tested the 10 today at the shop for about 30 minutes. First the good - absolutely loved the feel. They nailed it with that insert. Now the bad - I hated the look. That line just kills it IMO. Other than that it was really stable and solid. But I think it was far from “point and shoot” because of the alignment. I’ve seen some other sneak peak versions of the 10 that might change my mind in the future.

 

Personally I am not a TM guy at all (see my signature) but I think the Spider X is a tad better.

The Bird of Prey reminds me of my beloved PXG Gunboat. I may have to give that one a try.

 

Mind you... played a Spider for years and years. The 10 is on my radar too.

Just got the ten. It’s a tad smaller than the pics make it look. I’m coming from the exo 7 mini and it’s about the same size.

 

As far as the sight line I’m going to remove it and paint it black. It won’t be an issue.

I went to go try them out in person, I don’t think I got a long with any of them except maybe the bird of prey ... everything seem to go in

 

But I liked the spider x lol!

I spent some time with them this afternoon at Golf Galaxy. A few thoughts:

 

1) The insert feels totally different from the OG Stroke Lab insert. It's a nice firm "thock." I think if you usually find Odyssey inserts too mushy, you'll like this one.

 

2) I really like the footprint of the Bird of Prey (feels dumb typing that name). I don't think it's any bigger than the 10, but the shape gives it a long, pulled back feel that is very confidence inspiring.

 

3) On at least the double bend version of the 10, it rolled open a bit when I tried to sole the putter. This has happened on a lot of no. 7 designs I've tried with Odyssey, and I hate it. It could just be how I set up to the ball, or the putter I chose. I didn't notice it with the BoP.

Funny that you mention it "spinning open." That's one of the things Callaway claims to have improved upon vs the Spiders....

My Ten slant neck sits dead square, where my spider almost felt 1-2 degrees closed. I feel like I know exactly where the face is at all times with the Ten. Must be a combination of the headweight and stroke lab. Loving it so far.

That is good to hear. I am wanting to try this putter. I have a MySpider and when I set that thing down it swings wide open. I have been putting well so not in a huge rush to change, but this is one I am definitely going to try out.

I was able to get a lefty demo of the ten to try. Insert is a nice firm feel and I felt my putts were more on line, especially longer putts. It was 35" so really tough for me to tell as I normally use a 32.5" putter. Tempted to buy one but also considering the toulon 7.

Wow. Last post was a dictated hot mess. It’s a great putter with a lot to like. It sits square when you ground it. (For me) and I really like the firm insert. Hate the grip but am replacing it.

First round with the stroke lab 10 today. I had 5 birdies and I was overall impressed with the putter. Keeping it in the bag for now and I’ll report back after more use/play...

The Ten and Bird of Prey have the Star* insert that's been available in the tour issue models since the Stroke Lab came out. It's more in line acoustically with the white hot so it's firmer and louder. With that said I have played the white hot insert for over a decade and would agree that its much closer than the original SL insert which was way too quite for me. Sound is feel.

I got my 10 3 days ago and i really like it. face is firm and the balance feels great. I was playing the spider tour and and only switched cause the spider had a accident. :D

I picked a Ten up to compare to my go to putter in my signature. Tomorrow and Monday will test it on course. Installed my grip of choice and the lie and loft see dead on from factory. Pictures did make it seem larger than it is. It is same size as the newer TM spider, when photos would make me think same size as old TM spider.

This is exactly what I felt, I gamed the original Red Spider Tour a couple years ago and it always felt like it sat slightly closed. The SL Ten sat very square for me and the insert felt much better.

I do agree with the comments on the putter and how it sits. My Ten sits very square. The new insert is just great. Firmer feel and better sound for me. Alignment is just instant for me. The Sight line on top does not bother me at all. Rolled some putts in yesterday with the putter that seemed to be with ease. Odyssey has a Winner imho. :)

I really prefer the size of line on the Stroke Lab compared to the line on the Spider.

Liked the new insert a lot but wish there wasn’t a sight line. Luckily picked this up and can’t want to roll it. Best of both worlds.
