I almost ordered one of those this morning when I saw them, ended up going with a 0211 4 iron in my shaft instead to play around with before the sale ends (if it actually does).

They are going to have Gen2, Gen3 and 0211 all at full price? That doesn’t seem very smart does it? I bet Gen2 and 0211 drop in price once the new line comes out.

I feel like every month is different the last few months. They dropped milled wedges to $395 for Thanksgiving and then jumped back to $650 for all of December with new ones coming out in January. Seems like you would have wanted to hold that deal through the year instead of just 0211. I have very little confidence with a 4 iron for some weird reason, so if I can get it w/ the 0211 I’ll order it in Gen3 T to go w/ the rest of my set. If it doesn’t work, I’m not out much for tinkering. There were rumors 0211 is going away because it doesn’t work with how they want their brand to be perceived.

I was at the driving range today and a friend of mine who is on the LPGA Tour was there. PXG sent her two sets of the 0311ST's with SteelFiber shafts. They are beautiful irons. She likes these better than her previous PXG's.

PXG's definitely seem to be in a lot more bags on the LPGA vs the PGA.

What do you think is behind it, not having a true blade until recently? Not having as big of a tour presence and people are concerned about getting the same type of onsite tour support that the established guys provide?

Probably a little bit of each. I think a lot of it is because they do not have any big name players (TW, Rors, Fowler etc)

At least two LPGA PXG Staff players are currently using the ST model irons.

Also about half the PGA PXG Staff players are using the ST model.

Just picked up my Gen3 0311T irons. I played The original 0311s for almost 4 years.

1/1 was a complete guess by me because it’s 2 weeks before the release date I was told by my fitter. So anytime between 1/1 and 1/14 would be possible.

Love my 0211’s but I have to admit the new Gen3 lineup looks great.

I had 3 primary reasons to upgrade. The faces and grooves were getting worn down. Also hoping the Steelfiber would help with my tennis elbow. And lastly, the T's have less offset, so it should help with my misses which go left.

First I can vouch for the steel fibers helping tennis elbow. I had to quit playing in 2018 for 6 months because of it. Had shots, all they could do except surgery. Didn’t want to go that route so no golf for 6 months. Bought the 0311P (original) with steel fibers and haven’t had a problem since. Good luck! Hope it works for you as well.

 

are those new SF? Haven’t seen them with the black graphics before.
