I honestly believe the USA gave away the last 2 matches since they had already won..

they could have easily conceded the putts --Fowler did on the 2nd putt--but it would have looked too condescending..

I agree....Paul Azinger was correct when he said that Tiger woods look like he was moving in slow motion.... He has done that for a while

especially at Augusta National. I think that he gave away some of his secrets to his PC team regarding closing out tournaments,

let's see who was paying attention in the events going forward.

Bjorn is in outer space. Euro Tour has two events already and PGA Tour not going to conflict with PC this year - December pretty much the only month most guys get a break with the wrap around season. Christmas and New Year's also provide things to schedule around.

yeah, i don't know where you're gonna fit something in ... there's already a wgc event in november ... some guys just want to take a damn month off ... and world ranked, private clubs like rmgc don't want their summer time intruded upon, same as shinnecock and all the others ...

This was the best iteration of this event in awhile. The one in Korea four years ago seemed to provide the drama one would want, but personally I saw a lot less of that one than I did this year's version. Loved Royal Melbourne - I'd be fine if they made it the permanent home of the International team. I have to confess I was hoping the Internationals could pull it out - a win for them would have added some juice to this event that it often lacks (see Liberty National 2017.)

It's nice but still feels kinda weird to hear him be so expansive. I used to say nobody ever said less with less than Tiger but maybe that's all changing now.

I have to say, it is a bit awkward to see Tiger be so emotional/expressive on TV. This is coming from a huge fan too! I/We are just so not used to it and I am not sure I, personally, will ever be used to it. Very strange.

On the flip side, I miss the fist pumping Tiger of the past. I wanted to see one as the last putt dropped but instead we got a cap taken off and a handshake. Looking forward to a great 2020 for tiger.

I was never a big fan of TW as I didn't care much for his on the course demeanor, however, he seems to have done a 180. He is fun to watch, looks like he is having fun, and is more open.

Tiger is genuinely having more fun now than he did in 2000. Good for him to open up, turn over a new leaf and all the while grow as a person. Never stop learning, doing and striving - no matter your trials/tribulations or status.

As a member, we would be thrilled to have some sort of WGC event if it was made available on a yearly basis. We're proud of our club and like to see it shown on the world stage... The WGC Dell Matchplay was held at another sanbelt course in 2001, Metropolitan, before it moved to Arizona. So there is form there.

 

The crowds would be exactly the same even for a tournament as long as a world class field attended, Melbourne is sports mad and turns out to everything, it's not referred to as the sports capital of the world for nothing! (Australian Open (Tennis Grand Slam), F1 Grand Prix etc)

 

I mean we host Australasian tour events at RMGC all the time, Asian-PAcic Amateurs etc, The Australian Open etc even though the AO has been held recently on Sydney courses, because of money put up by the NSW (Sydney) government to pry them away from Melbourne.

 

I've heard it a few times this week, but it would be interesting if the R&A considered a financial offer from The Australian/Victorian Govt to host an Open Chamionship at RMGC. We are still a Commonwealth country, whilst not British, it is theoretically possible imo.

 

 

If the PGA stumped up a enough of an incentive like a WGC event, local government and sponsorship would get behind the money side of things. The Australian Open Tennis Prize Pool is $42,000,000 USD's....
