The Heppler line was the first line I actually hated from PING. I acknowledge why they did it and that's cool, but the feel of the putters, for me at least were woefully lacking.

In the last year and a half I've hotmelted probably 20 Ping GMAX drivers in my shop due to sound. Makes it MUCH better plus allows the user to push a little weight to the front to lower spin a smidge.

Has PING ever released anything early non-stateside? Or without being in the hands of their pros first?

Seems like a really odd move. Makes me doubt the validity.

Very odd move but since the pga show won't be happening maybe they are changing it up. It's 2020 so nothing makes sense anymore.

If Ping waits until 2021 to release an update of the i500, I fear TM just took that sale with the P770 release.

TM and Mizuno not waiting around and their releases of new irons look good. Lots of condensed golf in the next 2 months, lots of us watching big tournaments. Seems like a good time to release new equipment???

Picked up my new G410 irons today & was talking to the fitter & he said that, in Australia, the G425s will be out in 6 weeks/early October. 
 

So looks like a return visit to check out the new driver ?

This is so crazy that all of the leaks seem to be coming out of that part of the world. Wonder what is going on.

Just my guess, but... first, it's the start of their prime golf season.   Second, it gives them a chance work out any kinks in the first production run.   The 410 seems to have gone fairly smooth, but a couple of prior ones had some stops and starts with quality issues.   Get those addressed before going on the bigger run for the northern hemisphere.

 

Someone may ask why not just do it that way all the time, but it's obviously different times.   Most of the design work is in the can, the concern was production capability.  Ping may still not be up to full speed on ability to fill orders.   Releasing early in ANZ has the additional benefit of spreading out the demand.

They might release G425 irons then not necessarily the woods.  G425 woods will be released in 2021

Sort of disappointed they went with 425 instead of leaning into 420

Ping doesn't play the name game as much as other companies.  The "G" line does great so no reason to change it.

Right but carbon would be a whole new design, not progressive improvement of the G line.

I assume you saw the replacement for the G410 irons? Are they keeping the chrome finish or going with black PVD like 710? Any other description

Did you see any of the woods/hybrids?

Did you see the replacement for any other iron lines?

Me thought process is that there is a lot of inventory still on the shelves in the northern hemisphere and we are basically out. I cannot get product so they have decided to release the 425 early to Aus, South Africa and NZ. It is also coming into our prime golf time - Spring. My fitting stock should arrive 1 Sept.

I'd like to see Ping's sales distribution per region. I always thought that North America was their largest market  followed by Europe. If that is true, then I can't say that it is completely impossible, but it makes very little sense. Once news of the new product deliveries hit for  the southern hemisphere, they would have to substantially discount the current product here in order to move it. To me, it seems like they would be better off maintaining current prices on the equipment here and missing out on whatever sales they would lose in markets that are out of inventory....

I can't speak for everywhere but custom order for Ping in the USA are at least 4 weeks right now and the store shelves are pretty bare on the G410 products where I live.
