Think my Ex9 tour is older than 2015

also bag an original Epic SZ 15* (with TC serial number) that has been great

That Tour Exotics EX9 Tour is the 3wd I use and love it!  I think it was either in 2015 or 2016 cause reviews started popping up in early 2016.  Excellent fairway though!  I would love to try the EX9 Tour #3 hybrid sometime if I can find one!

I have the 16 degree which is also real easy to launch from the turf too.  I could see the lower lofts being a bit of work to be consistent off the turf though.

Good to know, thanks! May see if I can hunt one of these down in the 14* or 16* loft just for fun ?

It takes some serious speed and a pretty strong downward angle of attack to get it airborne, although there were a handful of lofts offered. For most it was a tee club only.

That's kind of what I figured with the face being somewhere between a normal driver and 3 wood in face height. 14* or 15* 3-woods are already hard enough to hit well off the deck, especially with the longer shafts these days. Seems like it would be great off the tee though for players that struggle with a driver but hit their fairway woods decently well.

I'm picky with a 3 wood.

A 2014 Big Bertha was my go to since they came out.

After hitting a Epic Flash strong 3 last month, I switched.

It is lofted up 1° to 14°?????

I can hit it from a tee, or the grass.

It doesn't work from a tight lie for me, but everything else is great.

I like this option more than a mini driver. These lower spin strong 3 woods are almost drivers in distance and the Epic Flash is one of the easiest to play, along with the Ping g410.

I've had a few people tell me that I'll either sell my current driver or be looking for another driver.

These are too close to driver distance.

Mine is very controllable, and gets plenty of roll.

I'm currently playing a G410 LST and that thing off the tee is a fairway finder and a bomber. I've been playing it in favor of my driver because I am more likely to keep it in the fairway and I'm also out driving my buddies with it so getting lots of play lately.

Now only if I can get my driver to feel like that.

I am fine with my TS2 15* 3wd but awhile back switched to TS2 16.5* 4 wd and stuck a Ventus Red 7 "S" in..BAM.   At 42.75" playing length, distance wise, it's as long as 15* 3wd only slightly higher and easier to smack off the deck.  On short Par 4's I seldom use it off a tee opting for 2 iron, but if I do it's an easy smack, about 225 carry +.

I don't think it's the driver or wd head as much as Ventus Red 5 "S" in driver and 7 "S" in 4wd making all the difference to my game, but they are another topic.

TS2 turned to C1. I hit it better than any of the other FW's out this year.

Its sneaky long!

I would like to retract this, Replace it with a TS3 16.5! Same shaft, but loft up on a C-1 setting. Easy to hit and stupid long!

Taylormade, take note, we need a 16.5 SIM!

Cobra Fly Z 3/4 wood from 2015.

I like a large-head 3 wood off a tee and this is large at 181cc, gives me more confidence from the tee vs a smaller headed 3 wood (just my preference from the tee, however I prefer a smaller-headed wood off the turf). Bought this 2nd hand to experiment with a 3 wood for mainly tee duty on selected holes (not a driver replacement - I game a Cobra F8+ which I like).

I am currently trialing 2 shafts with it (Aldila Tour Blue ATX85 S and Xcaliber FW S) both at 43.25 in club playing length.

So far, so good, also the Fly-Z has a wide range of adaptability with a loft range of 13 to 16 degrees, so if it suits, you can loft down off the tee as the OP's objective is to find a 3/4 wood for tee duty. Distance seems what you would expect for a decent 3 wood, right in the middle of performance for me. FYI, I have a driver SS of 105mph.

As a reference for any on here that go back to the turn of the century (ha..sounds weird to say that), I used to game a beautiful Mizuno T-Zoid driver in metallic blue and still have the head - the Fly Z 3 wood has the same footprint (though not quite as deep-faced)!
