Two golfers, two swings, which is better (just a bit of fun..)

Player A is very flippy but much less awkward through impact. Player B has a decent looking backswing but a lot of issues through the ball. I don't much like either but I would guess player A is the better player.

B. not in love with the swing, but A's hip turn completes way before the shoulders and arms, and that is almost always going to be spray city unless you have great timing.

I think B is the more consistent ball striker. Good tempo, sets the hands naturally in the backswing. Stable into the right hip At the top. Flat left wrist at the top and right elbow in a nice position nearing the bottom of the swing. Centered at impact. Nice late release. The drop kick in the video may be misleading.

A sets hands at the beginning of the backswing and is handsy throughout. Slides and flips as he approaches the bottom. Earlier release. Could have a 2 way miss.

Both look like they could have some real good rounds.

8-5 in favour of A so far.

To be clear, I'd say B is the better golfer even though I'd rather have A's swing. I would just feel more capable of improving A's swing.

Theres no secret, it’s two different players on the same day with a substantial difference in handicap, and wrx is split 8-8 on which is which..

I’ll let it run a bit longer before the reveal..

I like how say "no secret"...but then you use the word "reveal" further down in the thread. How Ben Hogan-esque of you! 😀

No matter what, there is a 50/50 chance you are correct.    And judging a player's scoring ability off of a single swing (or two consider the two different angles) is no guarantee that the player one thinks has  the better swing is the better scorer.   So there's that.

You of course have a point, but I like to think that perhaps the OP has some larger nugget of wisdom to drop on us. It's snowing out and I'm bored.

I’m trying to emphasise the better player definitely hits more fairways and greens with less wild shots, regardless of course management or short game

Understood but that doesn't necessarily equate to a perceived better swing - seen plenty of wonky but high effective swings.     To me, from what I've learned of the swing that is why I say B - he has impact conditions that lead me to believe he has better dispersion.

No nugget of wisdom coming, no tricks, except that the jury is split on which is the swing that produces better results, which is interesting in itself

Typical WRX - overcomplicating things.

Player B has either a water bottle, cellphone or bunch of crap in his right pocket.  He's the lesser player.  He's obviously used to having his 2-3 mulligan balls in his pocket during the round.

No good golfer is going to have that much crap in their pocket when swinging 🙂

I don't mind the topped shot.  Much easier to fix that then some of the issues with Player A.

I always take a topped shot as a sign of being very close to hitting a good shot, just barely off.  Pretty sure John Rahm feels the same way after he lets off some steam!  😉

So, in essence, both swings are crap but one player gets around the course and the other doesn't. What are their respective handicaps?

Every swing gets ripped apart on wrx, it’s tradition.

i don’t mind at all btw, no one improves by getting buttered up.
