It's incredible to me for a guy to perform that well with that much heat on him. Most guys would fold like Tony Finau on a Sunday under that kind of pressure. This won't make a difference on home soil but you damn sure want that guy on your team for an away game. Nothing phases him.

As I’ve said, I think Reed does this kinda stuff to fire himself up. It works.

Reed is at his best when people are rooting against him. I'm starting to think he deliberately creates these controversies so he can feed off the animosity. 

 

It reminds me of his Masters win. On the first tee of the final round, Reed received what could generously be described as a lukewarm reception from the Patrons. Meanwhile McIlroy received a loud cheer and heartfelt applause. 

 

McIlroy then proceeded to choke, while Reed calmly wrapped up a Green Jacket with very little fuss. Never count Reed out when the chips are down.

I would love to know how many embedded lies were claimed by players and how many times officials were called over.

 

Based on the tours statement, they basically said it was fine to assume that balls landing in the rough we embedded and PR went above and beyond calling the official.

 

I woulndt be surprised if  lot of embedded lies were called by players with no official called. 

 

"It was reasonable for both players to conclude -- based on the fact that they did not see the ball land, but given the lie of the ball in soft course conditions -- that they proceed as the rule allows for a potential embedded ball," the Tour said in a statement. The only thing yesterday's incident showed is that the lack of spectators and spotters of dubious talent leads to a lack of information for the players.  The spotter said that ball didn't bounce and everyone involved went with that.  He must not have seen the ball at all but said he did.  Strange thing to try to hang someone over.

Your not really building any kind of case here...not even for conduct of unwritten rules...if they did exist...which it doesn’t seem that they do when two guys at the top of the game do the opposite. Sabatini didn’t mind carrying on his merry way either.

Lerner keeps saying Rory’s ball went into its original pitch mark. Does he mean that Rory’s ball hit the ground and went straight up and came down in the first ball mark or that it went into the second bounce ball mark, just not another ball mark nearby?

He’s trying to say it went straight up. Abd fell back down into its original hole.  Brandel claims the same.  It’s so unlikely it’s laughable.  Video to me shows it coming forward.

I think Rory also said it was in a pitch mark post round, maybe not his? Not sure

They put themselves on so high of a pedestal that they’ll work any angle as to not have to come out and say they shouldn’t have made the comments they made. The media always belives they own some sort of moral/ethical high ground over everyone else.
