I use Tour B X in competition for its consistency, TP5 occasionally because its slightly longer than Tour B X but I get unwanted extra pop in a few approaches.

CG Tour is somewhere between these two for me. Maaaybe as long as TP5 (maybe) with better consistency. I still trust the Tour B X more.

Take this w/ a grain of salt.. I've only played 36 with the CG Tour and I pulled a few approaches in those rounds that can lead to the dreaded NuKeY bOi (shoutout Icaritooo), however the pulls were tame and distances good.

On stock drives, ball flight is noticeably high to me. Spin is low enough to avoid ballooning. Feels like this ball really gets out there.

Have about 7 or 8 rounds with the Tour X under my belt now. No complaints with the balls whatsoever. Off the tee they are long, and when I hit it good, straight. My shape is a baby fade and I've gotten several drives over 300 yards with these balls my last two rounds. My miss is a slice, which I haven't seen rear it's head in several rounds. Most of that is probably attributed to my swing improvements (I've been rebuilding it since January) but I cannot count out the ball in this respect either. Green side spin and feel is great for me. Off my irons they also spin great for me and my swing and hold greens well. They are also very durable. Played nearly 2 rounds with the same 2 balls and other than being a little dirty, they weren't scuffed up or cut at all and I certainly hit my share of trees, rocky lies and the occasional cart path. I'm also playing fresh wedges that aren't dinging the covers at all. Overall, I don't see myself switching to a different ball for any reason anytime soon.

FWIW, I recently picked up 2 dozen of the '21 Tour X in gloss white. Float tested them and only had 7 that I would consider "out of balance". At this point, I'm not going to float test these anymore. Not sure there is much benefit anyway, other than just knowing if they are balanced or not. Going to put my line in between the stock COG alignment aid and call it good.

Found a Tour CG in the woods today while playing.  Decided to give it a try and birdied 2 of the next 3 holes.  Thought I had found my next new ball, but then on the next hole I hooked my drive deep into the woods.  That ball had decided it wanted to live in the woods, come hell or high water.  Still, I'm going to buy a dozen to try out.  I really like it for the few holes I played it.

Just came back here to echo those of you who agreed that the Maxfli Tour is essentially a Prov1.  Comparing the numbers between these two great golf balls from the new mgs ball test added more positive data to this claim. The Maxfli was rightly added to their value ball recommendation.  Great all around golf ball.

Which Maxfli ball is closest to the TP5?  I love the TP5 but looking for slightly softer and slightly less spin.... Maxfli Tour?

Looks like Tour is closest based on the 2021 Ball Test.

Been playing these (2019 Tour) for about 2 months now, and really, really love this ball. For me, it's got the perfect feel, and is plenty long with great spin. I've been looking for a ball that feels and plays this good, without spending a fortune,  for a long time.

This and Snell MTB Black and 21 Pro V1 are best balls for me on a long time.

Played Maxfli’s exclusively in the late 90’s early 2000’s. Since then have jumped around from everything from ProV1, TP Black LDP,Wilson Staff, ZStar and QStar Tour. Every so often I would pick a dozen Maxfi’s to give there latest a run. The latest Maxfli Tour (2021) is there best ball in some time. For myself it flies straight and 10-15 yards longer than the most recent ball (QStar Tour) with a bit more green side spin. Although it feels a little harsher than the Q-Tour it’s a good feeling ball, reminds me a lot of the ZStar from about 5 years ago. My opinion the Maxfli Tour sits somewhere in between the ZStar and ProV1. Impressive ball I’ll keep in the bag. Two thumbs up.

Just bought a couple dozen of the Maxfli Tour CG to test against my gamer, the Bridgestone Tour BRX.

The Maxfli feels very slightly firmer off of the putter and wedges.  Spins well around the greens.  As long or longer with approach shots with good stopping and green holding characteristics.  As long or slightly longer and definitely firmer with driver.

I have been using a Check Go Pro to find the equator of all of the golf balls that I’ve used for the last couple of years.  The Maxfli Tour CG’s side stamp does not always match up with the Check Go Pro, so the technology they are using to identify CG and apply the side stamp is different.  What I have noticed is how smoothly and quickly the balls spin up in the Check Go Pro.

Definitely a contender.  Very impressed with them so far.  At 30% or more of a discount it is hard not to consider once I work through my current stash of Tour BRX balls.

Love the Maxfli Tour, but I made the mistake of playing the e12 Contact and now I got so used to that ball, I'm having a hard time playing the Maxfli Tour.

The e12 is definitely a softer ball (about 15 points I think) and seems to fly just a little longer on both the driver and irons, but difficult to generate enough spin to stop on the green.  However, I'm a senior golfer and have a hard time generating spin with anything short of 48* so I didn't get a lot of stopping with the Maxfli.

The Maxfli is great ball and the price is stellar.  I may trying starting with it next Spring to see if I can once again adjust to a firmer ball with a urethane cover.

Was at DSG picking up some baseball stuff for one of my boys and walked by the golf ball display.  Decided to buy a dozen of the Tour and Tour X balls.  They had a buy 2 for 60 deal so I thought I'd buy a dozen of each to see if I prefer one over the other.

That is the standard "deal" for the newest generation even though it says limited time.  It's been ongoing since they released that version.

It is indeed one of DSG standard deals but it’s a good one.  This ball, Snell and Prov1 are my favorite balls.   The Maxfli is a great ball at a great price for $30/doz.

Picked up 2 dozen of the 2019 Tour in yellow. Tough to beat for $45 delivered. Have been playing the X all year, but have lately been struggling with a slice. I know it's a swing issue, which I'm working on, but hoping the Tour will give me a little less spin and tame down my miss a bit.

Plan to play the Tours for my next few rounds as a comparison to the X's. Then stock up with one or the other before the 2 for $45 stops.

I would not be surprised if that ends up staying the price for a while since it's a prior model.  They might even get to some point further down the line where they discount them even more to blow out the stock.  Seems to always happen eventually at DSG/GG with Maxfli and Top Flite balls.

DSG site says only 1 dozen of the 2019 Tour in gloss white available to ship.  No longer listed at all on GG.  Tour X in gloss white not listed on either site.  I guess it's possible that they might find some more somewhere but it may be the end.  The other 2019 options are still available on both sites.

Has anyone played the 21 in yellow? The only review on the GG website says the yellow is just painted on and scrapes off with every iron shot.

Played 9 holes with the 2019 Tour last night. I’ve played both the Tour and X in the past, and couldn’t remember if I liked them. Well, I felt a little disappointed with the Tour. I felt it was lacking spin around the greens. I know it’s not a direct comparison, but against my usual Z-Star XV the drop in spin was noticeable. Aside from the lack of green side spin, the ball performed extremely well. I’ll have to try the X out more in depth. I really want to like these balls.

Tried out the Zstar xv last week and was really impressed, playing with it again the weekend and then trying out the 2021 Tour before the end of the season. Ill let you know how the '21 compares to the XV when I get out with it sometime next week. I know its more expensive than the '19 but when its on sale for 2 for $60, still super reasonable

UPDATE:  Playing the 2021 Maxfli Tour now for about 5-6 weeks. Durability thus far is outstanding, slight dulling of cover color/gloss when used for multiple rounds. Past weekend temps were mid 50’s with 10-20mph winds, the flight was perfect. Driver in to the wind and crosswinds held up great, was actually impressed. Once again I will say this is a great ball at a very good price.

What version of the Revolution? The original version from Maxfli from 1998 or the 15-20 other versions of the Revolution that were manufactured under the original Maxfli brand name including TaylorMade or the versions of the Revolution that have been produced since Dicks Sporting Goods bought the Maxfli brand name (except for the Noodle) name from TM in 2008? The original Revolution had a wound layer. The DSG Maxfli Tour balls that have been sold for years have nothing in common with the O/G Revolution ball. Wound golf balls died in 2000/2001.
