The Amanda and teenage reporter inserts had me shaking my head. Providing context and insight is important and should be included. But use the right people. Use washed-up tour guys with personality to fill in the gaps. The show would be so much better with Eddie Pepperell or Colt Knost or the like filling in those gaps. Listening to Amanda say things like "You cannot emulate the pressure of a major championship week." Just cheapens the genuineness of the story being told.

I actually thought Rappaport did pretty well and I'm not really a fan of his. I like Amanda on the typical broadcast but she's too polished and corporate for something like this. Everything she said was just a standard cliche.

Brooks used to be one of my favorite players now I cannot stand the guy.  Major douchechills
SS broke his spirit

"I don't even know who won the Masters"
"Yes you do"

What are you even doing?  This was a step above saying "I didn't even want to win the Masters anyway"

Guy needs help

When she was showing him the wedding clothes it was so obvious that he couldn’t have cared less it was kinda uncomfortable. Felt more like a ‘been married for 15 years’ kinda vibe than a not yet married vibe! Haha

Are they still together, is he still playing golf??? I kid, I kid 😊

All she had to do was get him to walk down the aisle with her and suddenly she is entitled to half his Saudi gold assuming she didn’t give that up in a pre-nup.

During the Finau episode, I told my wife "see, the reason I'm not any better is that I've only put 2 dents in the garage door". Didn't go over too well.

I would've been interested in hearing where Gipper is now and whether Tony has feelings about his Big Break experience. Also nice to see that some players have fairly "normal" looking wives and houses. I'll just ignore their girlfriends and private jets. 🙂

Anyone else catch when they asked DJ why he went to LIV and he said “it wasn’t my decision”? Did I hear that right?? Was thinking, oh Paulina told him to do it! Makes sense. Haha

I caught that as well and wondered who he meant.  But I did appreciate that he essentially said he went for the money.

Yeah I’m not a fan of his, even before he went to barstool. Showed how objective he is when he went to his best friends house as well.

They do the same thing in Drive to Survive, and its just as bad over there - probably worse since its 4 seasons deep and they are still saying the same dumb stuff.  All this being said, my point is the show isnt made for people like us, its made to drive new people to watch golf.  I can't stand it either, but it follows the exact formula Drive to Survive uses.

Finished it, and overall I'd have to say it isn't much more interesting than a typical player-profile piece.  The last show featured far too much golf and not much new information.  I was disappointed in the lack of footage in the entire series showing on-course interactions.  There was very little.  I was really hoping we'd get some soundbites of golfers and caddies going at it.  My favorite episode was the one featuring Matt Fitzpatrick, and from what I had read in one of my golf magazines, he was basically an afterthought when they needed some footage, and he turned into a story by coincidence.  It's obvious there were a lot of guys who weren't interested in participating, and I will be surprised if there is a second season.  Unlike the F1 series, I didn't think this ended with any kind of 'cliffhanger'.

I think Amanda Renner is great at her job, and I always look forward to her interviews, but I'm not sure why she was featured in this, as she can't really relate all that well with what goes on in the life and mind of a PGA golfer.

If this series is aimed at non-golfers, I don't think there is much that will hold their interest.  If it's aimed at golfers, I think most will be disappointed with the lack of new insights.

Just finished the Brooks episode last night.  Talk about someone who needs to talk to a therapist or at least a sports psychologist.  I was NEVER a fan of him and thought of him to be of the d-bag variety, but I did just feel kinda bad for him.  He's watching Scheffler do what he did a couple of years ago and its just beaten him down to a shell of his former self.

I have always liked Scottie though, and this just made me like him more, he seems so down to Earth, just like the complete opposite of Brooks.

Doesn't it take a certain amount of years married to get half? Can't just marry and be entitled to it right away.

Uh, no.

uh, doesn't work that way. There are many factors that go into it. They look at the income/property aquired during the marriage. For example if you built up some retirement fund before marriage and divorce after a couple years, they aren't entitled to half that money. I realized guys get screwed more but it's not just a cut 50/50 thing unless you decide on that outside of courts.

I'm thru episode 4 now and it was by far the best episode so far for me.  I absolutely fell in love with Joel Dahmen, he's been thru so much and just seems so authentic and truly a nice guy. Pulling for him and also his caddy who is awesome as well!

Already loved Joel after the video a few years back, where he had fun with his buddies on his home course. I think he got kicked out of the club after the video. Can‘t find it though? Does anyone know where to find it?

Thats how my prenup is structured.  All stuff pre marriage is mine, and everything gained during marriage is "martial assets" which everyone is inclined to 50/50, pending of course if you have a prenup and then its however the prenup is structured, so she could have like an "allowance" if they get divorced since he's obviously the breadwinner, for example.  Impossible to know outside of seeing any type of legal document.  If one exists.
