Second episode OBVIOUSLY should've been the first episode. MUCH better of a start than whatever that mid season JT/Spieth episode was. Awesome episode and in a way explains what happens to Brooks and why he went to LIV. Couldn't mentally compete anymore on the PGA tour and just wants to play the majors.

Going to have to disagree with you here. While most modern F1 drivers do have a lot of PR training, I would argue some of the best drivers have been terrible with the press. Also prior to Liberty taking over F1, the drivers were some of the most secluded athletes on the planet, especially if they weren't in a competitive car. 

 

Thats not to say other racing series didn't have better accessibility to drivers.

Great cutaway in the 5th episode shows Brookes annoyed at LIV questions and then putting a massive dip in. Cut to Matt Fitzpatrick coating himself in sunscreen lol.

Very interesting insight into Brooks. The narrative was always that he didn’t care, or only cared about the majors. But if you dig deeper this came from quotes taken out of context. From the second episode we see that not only does he care a lot, but it’s all he thinks about and he’s obviously distraught with the turn his game took. I’d say he’s borderline depressed. He went from being cut-throat, supremely confident, to saying he can’t compete week in week out. People forget he won 4 majors in a 8 major stretch, posting top 10’s in most of the others too. Those are Tiger like numbers, but injuries derailed his game and ultimately killed his confidence.

Seems like the big money came along for most of these golfers at the right time.  Reaffirms I don't miss anyone that left.

I've enjoyed "Full Swing" so far, 4 episodes in and the Joel Dahmen episode was amazing. Also Brooks was in an awful spot mentally

Binged it this evening and it's not bad, but hard core golf fans probably already know the stories they're telling, at least I did. There are a few interesting insights, nothing too earth shattering. Lots of LIV in the final episode of course, that makes sense as a "cliff hanger" type ending.

Some kind of interesting stuff, but very little new to fanatics. 

 

On the whole, a C+ or B-. As in, I'll likely watch all of it, but only because it is winter in the NE, I can't actually play, so I'll watch pretty much anything about golf. 

 

Truthfully though? I expected a bit more. For some reason, I feel somewhat intrigued, but at the same time curiously empty. Like NetFlix promised more than it delivered. (And good grief what is Foley in those stupid blue glasses doing there?)

I just finished the first 2 episodes.  I watched them with my wife and she knows all the golfers, and understands golf but she doesn't play. I noticed every few minutes my wife would play on her phone. As an obsessed golfer myself I enjoyed it but I expected more. To me the cool part is seeing these guys off the course and in everyday life. The golf part we all know about already.

 

I cant imagine non golfers will be flocking to watch this. My 2 cents.

My wife’s a non golfer and she enjoyed it more than I did. That’s the target audience here, not us lot. I actually thought the now old kids documentary on Netflix was better. The Short Game of anyone’s interested.

Oh boy, the added fairway wood sound when they are hitting splash shots from bunkers, and wedge shots is...bad. Also, a lot of added crowd oohhs, and ahhhs, even before the ball hits the ground. 

 

Overall, pretty good show, but could have been so much more. I understand it is made by the same guys who did drive to survive, which is notorious for injecting drama in the editing room.

 

I would love to watch a pga tour/korn ferry, Hard Knocks style, where they typically focus on one week per episode. That would have been much better I think.

Came to say the same about Brooks after watching episode 2. It definitely had the feeling of putting it into perspective. Seems he’s just felt like he lost it and saw the writing on the wall. So he grabbed the bag 💰

When she was showing him the wedding clothes it was so obvious that he couldn’t have cared less it was kinda uncomfortable. Felt more like a ‘been married for 15 years’ kinda vibe than a not yet married vibe! Haha
