I’m enjoying it but I’m also a golf sicko up in Canada who won’t be able to golf for almost 2 months still and I need my fix. 
 

Only thing really bothering me is the piped in club noise. Guy hitting an iron and you hear a 3-wood club sound.

Stick with it. They cover Mito’s collapse at the PGA in depth in a later episode. 

 

I finished it last night. Definitely went uphill after the first episode. Dahmen, Fitzpatrick, and Poulter were the standouts to me. Hope to see future seasons. 

 

Oh, and find yourself a woman who treats you like Geno treats Joel.

I only have made it about half way through the first episode and I really liked it.  Just following two young guns who grew up together and are best friends.

 

Highlight was Speith's "Fxck you, JT".

So honestly asking - what were the elements (missing) that made it in your mind an epic fail?

 

I am 5 episodes through and while I admit that it isn't as deep and exposing as I expected - I do like the inside view into the Brook, DJ, Fitz.... etc.

 

As mentioned, the Brooks episode was eye opening around his self confidence.  Joel was great to see the motivation (or lack thereof) and his inner workings.  I enjoyed seeing more of Ian and the family dynamic that was most likely a big driver to LIV.  Really eye opening around FITZ and just how hard of a worker he is (sheesh - stats since 15...!!!).

 

Some episodes are better than others, but so far I would give a solid B to B+ (and a bit about myself - diehard PGA tour fan who watches weekly so already knowing the outcomes).

It is just the little things (access) like that which have made this series enjoyable for me.  What a great story to be able know the real details...

I think i expected too much and expected the players to really open up... and maybe they did and golfers are just not that exciting.  I was waiting to learn something new... didnt happen

Haha, I caught that as well. So clearly we know the sound editing team aren’t golfers!

Brooks needs to get some professional mental help.  It seems like he has -zero- personal identity outside of golf.  

 

It seemed like Jenna was more concerned about showing off T&A than anything else.  

 

Both came off as being shallow and sad.

Got through to the Tony Finau episode. Definitely a tear jerker, that one - but his dad is a riot. Def see where his personality came from.

 

Dahmen episode was great. Poults came across as a really great guy - very delightful family.

Usually good series I will binge and willing to push my tired limits for staying up getting up for work. Last night I cut it off after 2 episodes, and it was way before my normal bedtime. Almost feels like your watching 'this week on the pga' or whatever it's called on the golfchannel.

I will still watch it all cuz I watch everything golf.

The Amanda and teenage reporter inserts had me shaking my head. Providing context and insight is important and should be included. But use the right people. Use washed-up tour guys with personality to fill in the gaps. The show would be so much better with Eddie Pepperell or Colt Knost or the like filling in those gaps. Listening to Amanda say things like "You cannot emulate the pressure of a major championship week." Just cheapens the genuineness of the story being told.

Really? I haven't gotten to that episode yet, will listen closely for that. I guess it could have been his father-in-law's input too. I've wondered how much influence Wayne has on him.

Honestly I’d do what I felt was best for me and my family and hope that my wife would support my decision. Hard to believe money would be an issue for them if he stayed on the PGA tour. But that’s just me 😊

I haven't finished yet but I think the show is a solid B or B-. Lots if room for improvement but a lot of good stuff. 

 

I was pretty shocked how open and honest Brooks was. This dude was a stone cold killer on the course and a Bobby Knight tough guy off it. Now he's completely questioning his ability to compete. Can't stop thinking about his swing. Is completely jealous that Scheffler is swinging freely and he's nowhere close. If we were making bets prior to release on who would be the least revealing and most guarded, my money would have been on Brooks. 

 

Dahmen and his caddy are awesome. I hope that guy finds a nugget of self belief. Seems like he has a great support circle around him. Max Homa talking about yelling at him to believe in himself every time they drink was great. "My caddy called me a boner". 🤣

 

The Fitzpatrick stuff was great. I love that they piped in all the Boston meatheads trash talking him down the stretch at the US Open. The 9i out of the bunker is even more impressive when you realize he was taking crap from idiot fans all day. 

 

Finau seems like an awesome person but I don't think winning back to back weak field events really combats the criticism. 

 

I think DJ, Poulter, and Scheffler came off exactly as I suspected. That's not praise or criticism. 

 

I think Morikawa was a bit underserved. Nothing really happened for him in 2022 but I think they could have fleshed out "young star falls back to earth" a bit better. I did appreciate him gently telling the Adidas reps that their outfit choices sucked.   

 

Haven't watched the last two but has anyone come across worse than Pat Perez? Creepily stalking other pros social media counts and being jealous of Rickie's commercial deals. Pat is lucky anybody follows him. His entire personality is based on being a jordan sneaker head married to a stripper. Get over yourself.
