Patently waiting the arrival of my stealth plus 9* head, I have a ventus black 6x ill pop in that thing and give it a whirl. Got some tournaments coming up so I hope it works out, if not the og sim is going back in the bag 🤣  I'll report back once I've tested on the course!

2-part question (probably answered already, but 210 pages long at this point, so forgive me)

 

1. How's shipping times doing these days?  I'm waiting on a warranty replacement estimated by TM to ship mid-april.  Have they been pretty accurate with shipping estimates?

 

2. When switching from a SIM2 to Stealth+, do people find weight adjustments are needed?  I cracked my SIM 2 8*, but keeping my shaft.  Will I need to buy a weight kit to get the same swing weight with the Stealth head, or are they pretty comparable?

I've gone from Sim 2 to Stealth + and back to Sim 2. The Stealth is way too light for me. Using my Ventus Blue Velocore shaft from my Sim2 it created all sorts of swing issues. Weight kits are like unicorn poo at the moment. Definitely get one if you can!

Thanks.  I do have some lead tape, so I can always try figure it out then get the weight I need after.  I'm not going to order anything until I have the new driver in hand.  I'm not sure exactly what they're sending me other than a replacement driver with an X shaft around 70g.

Unless you've modified your SIM2 in terms of weight I would not expect any issues. TM drivers for many generations now have all been around the same weights stock, but the point about the rarity of the weight kits is true. However the SIM front weight will work in the track so you can always go with those as they are plentiful.

I've had all those shafts in the bag at some point during the past 2 years lol.  All excellent shafts.  I'm sure you'll find the perfect combo once you get the head in and test them.

I noticed when I custom build a stealth there is an option about TSS weight. 

 

1). What is this? 

2). How does in affect flight and or spin?

3) how do I know what I need? 

4). Or just go with what is suggested?

1) The rear weight.
2) Not enough to be concerned about.
3) If you have to ask then you probably don't need it, lol. Serious answer, to compensate for shorter than standard length builds and/or heavier swingweight preference.
4) Probably a good idea.

Ahhh.  Yes. Mine is coming up 9g at -.75 length. Makes sense. Thanks.

🚨Anecdotal info alert 🚨 Brought my GC3 up to the indoor facility tonight and took a few swipes with my 425 Lst with 75g evenflow x and hit a few at 170 ball speed with good strikes grabbed the demo stealth plus with kalai stiff 176 ball speed next swing.  Can’t wait to get the stealth plus with the ventus black 60x early April.

Ballspeed faster off stealth+

Spin slightly lower off sim but that could be me and my comfort with sim's shallower face.

Distance better for stealth+ all day. 

Stealth+ is almost automatic from a dispersion perspective. 

 

I had sim setup at 9.75 and a 17g backweight. I have stealth+ setup at 9.5 and 7g more weight back (9g backweight and 2g lead tape). 

Do you feel the Stealth is less fade bias than the OG Sim?

Stealth is definitely less fade-biased than the SIM.

Kind of. It just doesn't spin sideways as much as sim did.

I’m in the process of testing out 1k 50x, ZF60X, and Ventus Blue 6X in plus head.  I think I’m leaning VB and ZF over 1k currently.  I think I just may get along better with shafts with varying degrees of soft middle sections. The ZF and Ventus are pretty similar, imo.  ZF has a stiffer handle and seems slightly stiffer than Ventus Blue in middle section.  The Ventus blue feels slightly stiffer in the tip.  The VB launches slightly higher than ZF, looks to have same spin.  1K launches lower in my hands.  They all have good feel in their own way.

Well....between the 3 shafts tested, not a lot of difference. I’m playing on course with the 50tx Wednesday. I’ve played with the others and know how they behave under pressure, with the zf being a little better than the VB for me. We’ll see how the 50tx is with $ on the line🤑

Very good first round for my Stealth Plus. Temps never got out of the mid 50's and it was very windy. The main thing I noticed was the consistency of the ball flight directionally. No huge fades and mishits off the lower face were well controlled. The SIM and SIM2 tended to dive bomb a bit more for me when I wasn't hitting it that well. No major outliers in the distance department with one exception, a ball that felt too high on the face but absolutely sailed through the cross wind. 

 

My standard swing was able to even produce a few small draws, something I haven't seen in a while. I'm in standard loft with no sliding weight adjustment, in that setup this is the most "neutral" Taylormade driver I've hit since the 2017 M1.

The expected arrival is a target, not a hard date. When you club moves from in queue to another status then it'll be about 2 days away from shipping.

Why change it? This thread has evolved from what, when to why, how, wow and drop date. It's perfect just being a record of speculation, anticipation, and acceptance or dissolution. Maybe it was an inside job but who cares? There are some still waiting in anticipation of delivery and like me still taking notes based on this thread's WRXer feedback.

  Even all member testing and results should stay here. We're 210 pgs in and we owe it to eachother to keep it moving on out right here, in this space and with every other model, loft, shaft, and setting we've (y'all) tried. It has slowed down a bit though, so if you do start a new thread just drop "official" since it is now "officiallly" known to be the new World's #1 driver of choice..."TaylorMade Stealth Plus (8 degrees) Shaft: Fujikura Ventus Black 7 X".

  And also post a link to this thread on top, just out of respect for the time and effort these guys have put in to make this one of the few things worth looking forward to, yeah!?
