no one will give BK any money to play another of these matches because no one will watch.

Its silly season. WWE stuff. Bryson is perfect for it, no one is 'neutral' in their opinion of him.

False, I will watch BK and so will many golf fans. He can't headline a card like TW or Phil but he can still draw and play. BDC is the one who will never be invited back. It's okay to lose but nobody wants to watch a sore loser whining child. Charles Barkley was reading putts better than BDC, I guess it was the fault of the fire ants or maybe the earth's rotation shifted slightly that day to throw off all the calculations. Or maybe BDC just needs to work on his game and stop blaming others.

Throw back to the old days (like, really really old days - early-mid 20th century) when golfers made nearly nothing at actual tournaments - and could make more playing "exhibition" matches. Kind of get it. But Brooks and Bryson? No. Both good golfers, but both incredibly petty, irritating people. No interest.

BDC is the biggest draw in the game right now. You might not like it, but it’s the way it is

If you say so. A 45 year old broken and nearly invalid Tiger posted a singular wedge shot and 2 fairway wood shots from PGA Tour twitter this week and has received more coverage, interest and attention than the insufferable frat bro BDC has over his entire career to date. Prove me wrong. I won't wait. One name drives all of professional golf. Hint it's not DeShampoo.

absolutely, but he's not an active player as of right now.

I'm not a big Tiger fan, but if he is ever fit and competitve again, yes of course he will be the biggest draw. BDC will be number two, the rest nowhere.

Right. Read this entire article.

https://www.bunkered.co.uk/golf-news/brooks-bryson-proves-to-be-tv-ratings-flop

https://www.golfwrx.com/665729/ratings-flop-bryson-vs-brooks-fails-to-attract-interest-in-least-viewed-edition-of-the-match/

Most damning paragraphs.

Whilst ‘Fall Golf’ TV ratings do tend to err on the lower side, it’s hard to imagine that TNT execs won’t be at least a little disappointed not to have performed better, particularly given the well-documented ‘enmity’ between Koepka and DeChambeau that has dominated golf headlines over the last eight months....

For example, the Sunday of October’s CJ Cup, also staged in Las Vegas, enticed a bigger audience.

Rory/Rickie Fowler outdrew Brooks/BDC. But but isn't Bryson is the best tv draw? No.

Brooks/Bryson 635k total viewers last week. Worse than some TV channel shopping ratings numbers from 3am in the morning. Check the above linked WRX article on the Brooks beat down of poor little brwyson ratings. Not many viewers at all. If Bryson as you claim is the best tv draw going forward for professional golf, golf on television is screwed.

Its not a #fact because people like me wouldn’t give a penny for anything bk was involved in. Pure supposition on the articles, and your part. How do you know Rory vs BK wouldn’t go the same way?

you don’t. #fact

'THE MATCH' is Exhibit A in the case for the DVR and heavy use of the FF button.

As others have said, once both players and caddies snapped into familiar competition mode they clammed up entirely.  It was amusing to hear Phil & 'Chuck' rambling on assuming the mute players couldn't hear - until Bryson confirmed that they could.  They just chose not to speak most of the time much to the chagrin of producers.

Sponsor mentions are always awkward and desperate but never more so than when there's naff-all happening the rest of the time.

I am not a Bryson detractor but the desert was an appropriate setting for Bryson's Wile E. Coyote-style painstaking putt calculations.  The only drawback - the putts weren't going in.

The constant invocation of odds went from annoyance to desperation as it quickly became clear this would be a walkover.  Hit-n-giggle has been replaced by swing-out-of-your-shoes-and-clench-your-jaw.

Brooks Koepka's logo is clever.  But the trend of sporting figures commissioning their own logos is imitative and egotistical.

The most interesting thing onscreen may have been the giant pincushion in many camera shots.  It took Brian Anderson some time to reveal it was a 'state of the art concert venue.'  Interesting.  More interesting than the golf, even.  Presumably the shape is based on its internal acoustics.

Having stayed at the Encore several years ago, I actually sat and watched the promo loops on the TV in the room featuring Steve Wynn (who had just been named in the infamous lawsuit) boasting about his property's amenities and restaurants.  There were beauty shots of the golf course, an interview with Tom Fazio (who praised the boss of course) and numerous hilariously staged shots of 'guests' and 'waitresses' chosen for their, er, bright smiles as they over-emoted for the cameras.

But while there and after I returned home I studied the local papers and the history of the property - numerous stories claimed that the golf course was to be razed and that an outdoor adventure/extreme sports park featuring a massive lake would be installed in its place.

EDIT:  ahhh.  Perhaps I things somewhat back to front as the adventure park idea was scrapped and the golf course rehabbed and remaining.

https://golfweek.usatoday.com/2020/01/16/resurrection-in-las-vegas-wynn-golf-club-is-back-with-an-in-your-face-finisher/

Given that there are high-dollar cottages and suites facing the golf course and that at night it all becomes a very valuable, quiet, giant park in a very loud, bright, noisy city, the extreme sports idea never made much sense.

It would have honestly been more exciting if they just made this a skills comp like the Big Break or what TaylorMade does with some of their staff players on YouTube.

No one cares about a head-to-head match unless it's one of the final groupings in a real tournament.

Sorry that facts touched the nerve of an obvious BDC fan boi.
