The golf was garbage, the banter was uncomfortable, commentary tried too hard to make this something that it was not.

The second most boring person on the planet is Brooks' brother. The shots with Brooks fiance were also cringeworthy..

 

It was just so forced and painful. Getting anything out of Brooks is like pulling teeth, Amanda's spots were worse than usual...

 

How many times did Bison say he "hadn't played in 2 months, not making excuses though"??

 

Thank God it was 12 holes..

Recoded the match. Watched a bit of it earlier. I was reminded why I don't like to hear either of those buffoons talk. 

 

I like the propeller hat bryson brings to the game. But he's obnoxious in his desire for everyone to jock sniff him. He's overboard with everything. 

 

Brooks acts like he doesn't care but he sure lit the fuse a bunch this past year. If he really didn't care then he wouldn't poke Bryson on Twitter. 

 

They're both try-hards.

Brooks kicked his a** 4 and 3 yesterday. Bryson didn’t win a single hole. Brooks has 4 majors to Bryson’s 1. Brooks typically plays his drivers under 45”. Bryson’s driver was a 47.75” LD set up… Bryson had the long drive… I say, I sure hope so and so fn what. Lol

I'd be interested to know how many par 3s and short par 4s there are vs long par 4s and par 5s. For the sake of betting. 12 holes is weird if they don't have equivalent numbers of par 5s and 3s.

If they're all short par 4s, his length isn't as much an advantage. BDC hitting a GW in while BK hits a 9i doesn't make as much difference as BDC hitting a 7i into a par 5 while BK is hitting 4i.

I looked forward to the match but it was a very poorly produced event. There was no good lead-in about who these players are and what their last year or so has been like. The match was probably watched by some people who actually do not know who these guys are. But even for golfers, a bit of build-up would be good. The producers' bit piece on the players consisted of VERY short snippets of video in a collage and I didn't think it worked well at all. Having Barkley on there was like a joke. I could go on... doesn't matter... I just can't think of any reason to brag on the show... it just was not good.

Good event overall and the easiest $1400 I ever made, probably. BDC came to crack jokes and bake cupcakes, BK came focused and ready to play. For all the trigonometry, percentages, distances, measurements, calculus, BDC still couldn't hit a putt. Chuck called him out and BDC got angry, that's telling. Chuck read the putt better than you did BDC, time to man up and face the facts.

 

Hope to never see BDC again on The Match. BK is the defending champion, maybe BK + TW vs Phil + CM would be a good matchup next year. Or mix it up with the celebrity amateurs. I want to see the improvements Chuck has made to his swing, and Phil + Chuck team is fun to watch.

Maybe I am.  I would also say Brooks would probably win between the two.  Maybe 9 out of 10 times.  
 

I thought Happy Gilmore was a ridiculous movie and I think the Brooks/Bryson feud is even more ridiculous.

100% the Koepka-DeChambeau is probably the lamest feud in sport.

So it appears the actual final score of the match was 5&3. BDC conceded the 9th hole to Brooks after he missed his own birdie putt. Brooks still had a birdie putt. So 5&3 it is.

Bryson trailed 4-down with 4 holes to play entering the 9th hole at Wynn Golf Club. After missing his putt for birdie on the par-3, DeChambeau conceded Koepka a birdie putt, ending the Match by an apparent final score of 5-and-3. 

 

Either way BDC was crushed. Congrats Brooks. 😄

Aside the charity aspect, these made for TV events need an overhaul. Perhaps a 4-cap male vs an LPGA pro match…
